  1. Sorry about double posting, but I just came across these ones, Gloves They have four ribs, the stitching over the palm, doesn't look like a large flair on the cuffs, and all I would have to do is add the suede on the fingers and thumb, remove the strap and add the "V" I do see it has some cracking on it though from being worn down; I don't know if that would be repairable or not. But what do you guys think about this one?
  2. Well I would rather not spend $60 on gloves. So I'll keep looking, and if I end up having to get WW then I will. I'm trying to keep this whole project as cost effective as possible.
  3. Right I forgot about that. So remove the strap, remove one rib, and add the suede. If I did all that would it be good?
  4. So awhile back I spent a long while on Ebay looking for some scout gloves and came across these. Scout Gloves I would need to remove the strap and remove a rib as it has five instead of four. But the ribs look to be the correct size. And it already has a "V" shape sown into it. But I thought I'd ask to see what others think about it.
  5. Ok so I trimmed off the "threads" and reheated and reshaped the knees, and I put on better pants. Do they still look too small? I think they look much better now.
  6. This is what it is. I'll peel it off, thank you. Peter I bought the armor off of ebay. And I'm 5'8" as well, to put it in perspective. I'm thinking for the shoulder if I trim it then reheat it with a heat gun I can get it to match my body better; but like you said the soft armor will bulk me up a bit so it's tough to know how much space the soft armor will fill up. The Bicep fits my arm nicely, so if the length is correct then that is all set. And as for the elbows I have no idea what to think for that, can't really trim it in and re heat, and I can't tell if it's the right length either. And the knees I might have them in the wrong spot, I have my kneecap in the crevasse right before it comes back... OR why it might look like it's goes up too far on the thighs may be due to the sweatpants I'm wearing. They are really baggy and so in pictures like the one above, it will seem like my knees are higher than they actually are.
  7. Thank you. I took some photos of some of my armor (terribly) taped to my arm and my knees to determine if they are too large, need cutting/trimming, need to be reheated, etc. I don't know if you can tell by the photos so well or not, but the elbow and shoulder kinda hang off my arm on the sides. So any feedback on what you guys think will be much appreciated. This image you can see it hanging off my leg on the sides. I took another pic to show it from a front and side view perspective to see if the size it correct. Front of my arm Side of my arm Also when I took the tape off some of the pieces and I noticed yesterday as well, there seems to be a thin like plastic on top of the armor, and it's peeling a little. I don't know if this is important or not, or if I can just peel it off?
  8. Is this the right spot to post my WIP? Greetings everyone. So after wanting to become a scout trooper for about seven years now, I'm finally going to do it. I'm not new to costuming, I've made costumes for other SW costume groups, but this is my first time doing a vacuum formed armor kit. So it will be a new experience working with that. My armor came in the mail today, I'm excited to start this. Some of the armor seems a little big on me though, I don't know if they're suppose to be that big, to fit over the under suit, or if I'm going to have to trim and/or reheat and form them. But the chest, back and biceps seem to be sized nicely... Anyway, excited to start this
