  1. Are they pop rivets?
  2. No big thing... Thats the difference in the written word and spoken word. I imagine the garrison across the big pond has to stop and figure out what we're talking about half the time... and we speak the same language (for the most part). I remember when I was in England all the girls wanted us to talk to them because it sounded like we were singing.
  3. I didn't mean to come off erk'ed. My point was really to come up with an official cover. I would think the detachment could officially set the protocol. Elite detachments normally do that to set themselves apart from the norm. I remember every time I went onboard a surface ship they were pissed I was wearing a ball cap and they were stuck with a white "dixie cup". Thats probably why they changed and made their own.
  4. Congratulations... Hope to be joining you soon.
  5. About how long do the batteries last with the 12w unit?
  6. I was taught liquid Joy for my scuba mask.... since that stuff seems harder to find these days its good to know dawn works too... Thanks p.s. cat crap is just that ...crap and never worked when I used it.
  7. As a noob to this forum I don't know if this counts for much but, I'm ex-Navy. Officers are Officers and enlisted are enlisted. They had separate, distinct uniforms that did not mix (at least in my day). You also did not mix your uniforms (i.e. working dress and dress uniform) unless you were part of a designated and specialized unit like the submarines where we were allowed to wear our sub's official ball cap. With all that said I think wearing a presumably dress hat with a working uniform (i.e. BS armor) would be a no no. Just saying.
  8. Hello to all, I've been a fan of the ol' Black and White team since the first movie. Now it looks like a friend I work with (TK11116) is getting me to join. I saw the good things done by the Legion at a recent comic-con and felt the desire and need to contribute. It was the same feeling I had when I joined the military (Navy) and when I once was a LEO. Its no surprise that with my love for bikes (the fast ones... not the pedal ones) I decided on the specialists of going "balls out"for the Empire. This will be my first build and from what I've gleaned from the numerous posts is there definitely will be some challenges but, not unsurmountable. Please be patient with me. I'm not an armchair trooper. My search fu isn't that great (or my computer skills). I imagine I will post many questions that have already been answered. I've seen a lot of help for others so far and I've seen a lot of quality feedback. You all seem great at rolling out the red carpet. Cheers to all, Scott
