  1. I emailed them and they said yes they are once finished with the other waves. I'd like to get an RS helmet but I'm holding off till they start a new wave
  2. Heck yeah I'm doing it! Was changing the attachment anyways haha!
  3. Dude you finished so fast! I need to get going on my build! Looks great Vinny!
  4. Congrats on receiving that beauty! Man that helmet looks great even with the bad snout job and the peeling decal. Weren't these lids built from a screen used one? I'm 6'4 and think the RS would be way better on me than my SC which I'll change down the road once finished with my build.
  5. Yeah that helmet looks really good.
  6. Once I'm done with the build I'm really considering buying an Altmanns down the road.
  7. Thanks Andry, I see what you mean I'll definitely pull it up a few inches more.
  8. Hey everyone! So I'm getting really close to finishing up. I've got my cummerbund, cod, and flak vest finished! that just leaves me with the balaclava and ill be done. of course looking at the pics I need to start fine tuning all the pieces so they'll fit better. Ill be getting real suede for the riding patches and the mudflap since I made those in faux suede, the faux sued just doesn't cut it for me at all. I made the cummerbund and cod separate with the cod piece attaching to the flak vest. hope you all like it! Oh and sorry for the poor lighting. [/url
  9. You're welcome man. Keep the vids coming! It's really nice to have videos of all the pieces
  10. Dude! Keep up the good work! Your review on the Altmanns bucket was great and now I'm thinking I should get one too but need to finish my build with my SC helmet and armor first.
  11. Oberkisstillalive Thankyou I've tried my best to get it to this point and sometimes I feel like I went a bit overboard with it but you and a lot of others seem to like it! The painting is a combo of a lot of paints, I first used a really thick grit sandpaper like 60 grit lightly scraped/scuffed in areas that would receive the most wear so basically anywhere on it that you think looks right too haha. For the heavy scrapes I sanded a little harder and used a xacto to carve the area out a little more. After I felt like I was finished with the scraping I used about 50% black, 40% ochre, and 10% green acrylic paint mix a little bit of water then dab with a brush on those scraped areas. After that wipe the paint off with a wet paper towel then I dry paper towel and those scratches and scuffs should pop with natural looking dirtiness. You don't have to use the green acrylic and just use the black and the ochre. Once the acrylic is dry I got my airbrush out with some flat black testers paint and sprayed that on low pressure very lightly controlling it so not to go on too thick. The airbrush gives it more of a smoky look rather than a splatter. After that was done and dried for a bit I took out my little can of flat black testers spray paint then sprayed that on giving it that splatter carbon scoring effect that most of the scouts have or at least when they got to endor haha. You don't have to do this but I was able to rub off the testers paint where ever I wanted weathering on the black paint to reveal the white to give it that extra weathered look on top of all the other weathering. After all that I sealed the weathering with a few coats of rustoleum 2x ultra cover semi gloss clear coat. I really didn't want to clear coat it but the black testers paint would eventually rub off over time from handling. I hope I made sense because it's easier done for me then said since I kinda winged it haha! I'm sure some one has a better way of doing this.
  12. Thankyou for the much needed info Chunk! I'll make sure everything is correct when I'm finished.
  13. Hey guys and gals so I've been working on my build of my biker scout. So far I've got the SC helmet and armor finished, well I might give the armor a few tweaks here and there down the road once finished with the whole suit. I've got myself a pair of sweat wampa wear gloves. I've modified my redkap coveralls but will just need to sew on the suede parts and the elastic band. Finished the boots, hopefully they look good for you all. Will need to eventually start on the flak vest, cummerbund, and pouches but I'm a bit nervous on doing those since I need to brush up on my sewing skills more. The helmet. Armor laid out. Also did a bit of modification to the chest and back pieces by doing return edges with a heat sealing iron. I give credit to Pandatrooper for that great idea! Test fitting the armor pieces! Some things are a little lopsided but it's all fitting really well.
  14. So now finally got my armor and awaiting it's arrival! I'll most likely post a build of the rest of my costume once I start
  15. Wow great build!
  16. That's great lexbomb! Building the helmet was fun and couldn't of done it without ever discovering this forum. I've caught the bug and can't wait to start on the armor already but don't quite have the funds for it right now haha. Did you go with SC as well?
  17. That is very true! Haha!
  18. lexbomb thanks haha! It's either that or I've been fighting on sullust for a few minutes haha!
  19. Thanks bugdozer yesterday I actually watched some seens in rotj and saw a few that actually had really heavy weathering on the helmet.
  20. Thanks man I guess I did okay for my first helmet haha. Hopefully it'll be acceptable I'd really like to get everything approved once I'm finished. I'll try and contact the local GML to send them the pics of the helmet and see what they think.
  21. Thanks for the info 01Hawk
  22. With going this route with the weathering will I be able to get it 501st approved?
  23. Thank you stasz! I'm so glad to have found bikerscout.net! I'm hopeing to start the armor pieces this year as long as funds permit haha
  24. Figured it out made a photobucket. Hope you guys like them
  25. So I tried to attach the photos and the size of them was too big I guess. I resized them and that worked but the quality sucks now. Any ideas on uploading pics here?
