Well damn, I didn't know there were so many. Thanks!

Looking to get pants and shirt, I know Imperial Boots make them. Any other makers I should check out for these?

Back with my second Pathfinder's build. I've loved the ST since Rogue One, then to see them pop up in The Mandalorian and Andor, it has renewed my interest. I was able to pick up an 850 shoretrooper kit at a great price. I still need to order the soft parts, I'll probably get them ordered from Imperial Boots when their June wave hits. I picked up a pair of Orca knock-offs from Amazon already. I've built 850 kits before and they tend to fit my dad bod ok. I think I have most if not all of the strapping material I'll need. So i'm excited to get cutting once the armor arrives!

It's finally happening! First Scout build
Ghost40 replied to BlackTaz's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
That's awesome! I really like to watch build threads through someone's progress. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions! -
I appreciate it, thank you!

Thank you all for the support and guidance along the way!!

I think I have a couple of the 5w speakers around here. As for the foam, I was just using acoustic foam, its not very dense. I may have some dynamat tape here as well. Ill give that a try. No lens fogging, I was just thinking ahead until summer. I can however see how the open ears would definitely help with air flow. We have a few troops over the next couple of months, Ill see how that goes before adding fans. Thanks for the input!

I'm curious to see how people are are mounting any electronics. Currently I'm using Ukswrath mic and Poweramp, I had to add foam behind the snout to keep the feedback down. Needless to say my nose rubbing the foam. The Poweramp is behind my head in the "ring", and the back of my head is right against it. I know these helmets are tiny anyway, but I was going to add fans but may have to sacrifice the mic system. Anybody have pics of their setup?

Lancer helmet questions
Ghost40 replied to Ghost40's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" Armor/Helmet
Awesome! Thank you for the info, much appreciated! -
So, I am going through the CRLs to prepare for lancer and one of the things is rebuilding the helmet. I know I have to paint the snout background, no issues. So on to the questions: 1. Seal the seam (its a cap/back type from SC). I see it's optional so I'm on the fence about it. I would probably use ABS slurry but I don't have any of the abs from the armor. I have other white abs, but the color might be off. So I'm torn on sealing the seam since it will require a complete repaint of the helmet and may not match the white of the armor. What are your thoughts? 2. Does anyone have a source for the 3M bolts? I've found some that are 3D printed but being small, some things just tend to look "printed" even when finished. 3. Is there somewhere I can post photos for lancer to get some feedback? I mean, other than the request thread? I didn't want to gum it up with random posts. Reviewing the lancer requirements, I'm pretty sure everything else is good, if not close. I tried to build to the upper standard when I put it together.

OK, I got through a lot of the weathering today. The tea bath worked pretty well. Went over the seams with the same colors I was using for the hard armor. Once it's all dry tomorrow i'll have a look in the day light to see where it needs touched up. Unfortunately the energy saver bulbs in my basement make everything look yellow in my pictures... -

Yeah. I was playing with inserts when putting things together. I plan to add a thin piece of foam to each so they aren't huge. Thanks for the link to the thread. I'm going to have a look through. The white soft parts are in the tea bath now but I'm skeptical as to whether or not it will work the way I'm thinking. The cumberbund is the satin looking stuff so I don't think it will take it well. -

Happy to say I got the cumberbund properly centered in the back and added the stitching in the center to meet CRL. I also got the belt completed tonight, the buckles and boxes need some adjustments but I'm happy with the progress. So now all the parts are complete and fitted, all thats left is weathering! Tomorrow I'll start to dye the belts and cumberbund in tea, while thats going on I'll start laying down base coats. I'm a day behind where I thought I would be but weather permitting I'll be taking pictures for approval this weekend. -

Cumberbund question
Ghost40 replied to Ghost40's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" Soft Parts
Alright, it was easier than I thought to reposition the center. Its slightly off but I'm fairly happy with the result. My sewing skills must be improving. I had to take the photo myself so its a little goofy -
Cumberbund question
Ghost40 replied to Ghost40's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" Soft Parts
It's not totally impossible. I think it's the outcome I may be afraid of lol. Most of my sewing is done where it is usually hidden. I'm going to have another look tonight, had to take a breather amd come back to it. -
Cumberbund question
Ghost40 replied to Ghost40's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" Soft Parts
Had to get my wife to help out a little, but its not as off center as I thought it was going to be. Granted I need to straighten the back plate a bit and bring it up but it had slid down -
I picked up a decent cumberbund from a member here, very nice quality. The height is right but I have to take it in about 4". The easy way is the add 2" velcro but then the closure won't be in the center, it would be off to the left a bit. I don't see anything in the CRL about it, just that it closes right-over-left. The harder part, for me and my sewing skills, it to cut it down so it closes in the middle. Would it pass the CRL if the closure was off center? Thoughts? For some reason the bottom pic is flipping 90 degrees. In the center: Off center:

Coming along nicely, just have to attach the tank. Will get the biceps, forearms, and knees completed tomorrow. Planning on making the alteration to the cumberbund to take out a couple of inches at the waist. I should be able to start weathering on Wednesday!
