I'm looking at the thread that compares the helmet, which is very helpful, but the problem is I don't know what all of these acronyms for the helmets mean... They appear to be brands but I don't know what the brand names are so I can do some research

Well buying a kit does seem much easier than building your own armor from scratch! I was reading online and starting to get overwhelmed about what was required to make your own armor. What type of assembly is required for this kit?

Hey everyone. I am a 26 year old guy in Lafayette, IN looking to get started in the 501st! After doing some hard thinking about what armor I would like to have, I decided on the impressive looking Biker Scout! However, I have NO IDEA what I am getting myself into. What I do know is I have the time, the money, and the drive to get my own set of armor going. Is there anyone anywhere near Lafayette that would be willing to allow me to see their armor? Also, I have done some research and found a couple of sites that help build your own armor, but I am very much out of my element here and have no idea how to get started... Do most people actually make their own armor? Or do you buy it? I've also heard there are kits, but really not sure about those either. Any tips would really help
