  1. Took this with my phone just now. You can see a bit of the weathering better here. Do you think it should be graded more than that? How would you recommend going about it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Oh and yes, Velcro! I have it on my forearms, better add to biceps too. I didn't sew the bottom Velcro on my cummerbund to fully attach the pouches as I wasn't sure of placement. Seeing pics and hearing feedback helps with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I know about the TD haha noticed a week ago, but haven't turned it yet; used the wrong scout as reference Forgot to add it to the above list! And the pics came out very white when I compressed them. It is weathered, went with a light muddy/grimy look. I'll attempt grading the blast marks more. I'll take a better one of the arm more tomorrow. With a single pic, I won't have to compress it as much to make 500k. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi everyone!I know there are things to fix. So far I can see that I need to level out my boxes, fix the lining of my pouches, lengthen my cod strap, and trim my helmet some more. I also still need to put padding in my helmet, but I was so excited to have the finish line in sight that I wanted to take pics of my first full test fitting. Well scouts, let me have it! What else needs some work?
  5. Great advice! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks, I am just worried bout cutting too much, or the wrong spots. I made my own balaclava with that sport material. Very breathable! Do you find that it wicks moisture into your cummerbund? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. For those who have put vents in their undersuit, would you be able to post pictures? I find my coveralls quite warm without my cummerbund and armour, so after some sweaty test fits, I'm wanting to add some ventilation to my coveralls. Any suggestions on where to cut? I'm pretty handy with a sewing machine, but still feel there's no going back once I start! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Oh, I know they are strong scissors, I don't think my weak little hands can cut through it haha I'm currently using guaranteed 'forever sharp' fiskers on my armour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks! I have a dremel, so I'll try the cutting tool. It's too thick me to cut with scissors and the top line is too close to the edge for the drill and snap method. Hopefully I'll have some success with the dremel this weekend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I do have a heat gun for bending it, I was just so surprised that it didn't come precut! I'll look into a coping saw, maybe some one I know will have one. I'm very scared of cracking the lens while sawing it 😳 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hi all! My KS helmet kit came with my lens as a uncut block. I couldn't find anyone else on here talking about how to cut/shape it. What tool should I use on this? I'm fairly certain I won't have whatever it is....I'm really hoping I don't have to buy a new, precut, lens. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I was worried about it getting twisted. I find tucked in shirts very uncomfortable. I eventually went with coveralls and just altered them a ton! Took a lot of work, but they fit me much better now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'm 5'8 actually. Good to know I don't have to worry about my hips! I thought the belt sat on the hips, not above them, so I thought the bottom of the bund will be on my hips. I have a very short back. The bottom of my ribs is only an inch above the tip of my hips; I'm all leg (did major sewing adjustments to my coveralls!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm so glad to hear that! I can easily make the back straight, and it not poke out under/over the belt. I just wanted to make sure it's ok if the bund fits me a bit better, otherwise it would look loose and sloppy on me. Thanks! I'll make sure to post a pic after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hello. I was about to start my cummerbund when I got stuck with a measurement/fitting conundrum. The tutorial said to measure your hips and chest just below the armor plate and take the wider of the two. Well I am an hourglass shape with a chest of 30" and hips 36". If I make it a square piece of 36", the top of the cummerbund will be very very bunched with 6 extra inches at the top. I imagine that would look awful. Can I make my cummerbund a trapezoid? Or does it have to be a rectangle? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
