Oh, I didn't know, I saw it sewed in Pandatrooper's thread. Unsewed it will be then

Here's what I did with the TD. I put a styrene sheet to hide the tube and to have a place to hang on the belt in the center. I did the shoulder straps. They're not in the correct material but they will do while I find the correct one. I put the black button on the back tank. I wanted to be a bit fancy, I made it "functionnal", it is possible to move it from left to right

Thanks for the comments !

Thanks guys ! So no folding, but I may sew around the piece (that's what "hem" means I think ?) to have a cleaner look, depending on what my wife wants, since it's her armor.

I bought suede at Tandy Leather, but it's suede on one side, and leather on the other side. For between the legs it's not important of course, but for the butt flap is it ? Do I have to do fold it in 2 and sew the borders to have suede on the 2 sides ? Don't want to go Lancer for the moment, but still want to do as closely as possible. Thanks !

On my SC armor, it seems that he holes on the chest sides already there are only 1.5", but the CRL says that it is supposed to be 2". Is there a reason why the SC pieces are at that width ? All the other holes were of the correct size. And the elastic provided is a 2" one (well, I think it's the right one). I know it's not hard to open more the holes, but I would like to know why they're not large enough ??? Just to be sure, thanks

Update time ! I received the gun from Darth Voorhees, thanks ! I'm waiting for the bund, pouches and boots from Marcel. I need to decide if I want to do the vest, or if I order it from someone. I need to do the collar on the flight suit. I sanded all the pieces of the armor. I now have a problem : It seems that the elastics on the sides of the chest piece must be 2", but the holes already there are only 1.5" ... I know it's not hard to open more the holes, but I would like to know why they're not large enough ??? I bought the suede this morning at Tandy Leather : It is suede on one side, and leather on the other side. Is it necessary to have suede on both sides for the butt patch ? If so, I only have to fold the piece in 2 and sew the borders. I began to glue some parts : For the belt I did something like Pandatrooper, but I glued a longer part : I began putting velcro : I rounded the corner of the shoulders : I bought this at Tandy Leather to hold the TD in the middle. I will put an ABS plate behind the TD, and it will be screwed (or riveted) on it : The back piece doesn't fit right on one of the sides and it bothers me, but I can't do anything, it's like it's too much trimmed to fit correctly : Some ofher pictures :

Thanks for the tip, I'll check that.

So ... The SC armor arrived today The armor was very well packed, I'm really impressed ! All part are wrapped in bubble wrap, there's instructions included , and all is very clean. But 65$US more in customs, ouch ! We also got the gloves today : They're a bit too small for me, but my wife says they're ok for her, but almost too small. We should have taken a size more I think, but they're ok. They look great ! I bought the gun from Mr Voorhees. The bund, pouches and boots were ordered from Marcel. I think we only miss the vest and the suede ...

I use snaps. Not always very easy to unsnap though, but it keeps the lid in place.
-
I used industrial Velcro to fix the headband in place.

Sooo ... It starts at last ! The helmet was ordered from KS, and is almost completed, I just need stickers from TrooperBay (in the mail), and to finish installing the helmet padding. And trim a bit the ear holes. Picture soon ! The armor was ordered from SC, waiting to be shipped. The gloves were ordered from Wampa Wear website shipped. The undersuit is a Red Kap coverall, shipped : http://www.amazon.co...l/dp/B00O971DVA The cummerbund, pouches and boot will be ordered from Marcel very soon, we tried men's boots yesterday. Snaps, elastics, nylon straps, glue coming from my other trooper builds. So, what is missing ? : - Blaster : waiting to find one at a good price, not in a hurry - Balaclava - The black vest (?) I must read on that, not sure what it is and how to do it. - ?

Ordered :-)

Ohhh, that's good, thanks !
-
Doh ! eBay ! Thanks :-)

I tried to order them from Wampa Wear (on Amazon) but they don't ship to Canada ... Is there a place where I can order them that ships to Canada ? Thanks

Some progress made. I tried to enlarge the lenses a bit, don't know if it's visible. I may need to enlarge it again. I used snaps to keep the face at the right place : And I painted in black the back of the ears : I used a screw to keep the snout in place, so I can remove it if I need to : Here's the result of the front. I need to repaint arount the snout, when I screwed it the snout moved and scratched the paint :-( Here's the left side : And the right side. I need to shorten the strap. Now I need to get the "good" stickers from TrooperBay, and find a comfortable padding. After that it will be done :-)

Thanks :-) Here are some more pictures : This side (left side) aligns properly : The right side doesn't align : I have to cut the mask piece to align it correctly. If I try to align the 2 sides, the top part doesn't align and lean (I think it's the right word ?) on one side. What it look on the inside, is it too close from the border ? :
-
Some progress... Far from finished, held together with Velcro and tape : The 2 sides are not of the same length, so I'll have to cut and I'm a bit scared to do a mistake. From what I see I have to cut a part of the right side of the mask to align it correctly with the part over the mask. I'll take a picture of that to show.
-
Here are some pictures : I'm not exactly sure how to stop trimming, I'm going little by little : Also here I'm not sure about the trimming. I'll finish it once the face piece will be in place. This side seems ok, needs some more trimming : This side doesn't seem to fit correctly. The curve in the middle of the main helmet piece is more acute (right word ?) than on the other piece :
-
I started trimming the pieces : I don't see how I can assemble the back piece with the top piece without a big seam (is it the right word ?) ... I mean it is VERY easy to see the line of separation. The part over the face doesn't align right on the 2 sides : one seems not bad but th other doesn't feel "right", I must work on it. Are there good pictures of one during the building ? I'm very curious to see how it would compare to mine. I found some picture of the finished helmet and a couple during the building, but not on the angles I want to see. Thanks !

Thanks for the move ! The quality may be meh, but my wife was still very very happy And since my son wants one too it will be a good experience, while waiting for walt to finish his children scout armor.

Hmmm I think I'm in the wrong section ... Can a moderator move this thread in the Biker Scout HQ section ? I think it's the right one.

So I got a KS helmet for my wife, for her birthday Maybe I've been spoiled by my Authentic Props TK kit, but this helmet quality is ... meh. "B grade" AP helmets are better than that. There's a small brown scratch on the side that doesn't go, and plastic is a bit unevent at some places. But it seems all of the same color, so I got that going for me, which is nice. Well, I have to look at it more closely with a good lighting source to be sure, it's a bit dark in the house. The shipping was relatively fast, less than a month, so I'm happy I ordered a better snout piece from Darth Voorhees, and the replacement hardware from kwdesigns. I need to order the new stickers. I'll go search for a good tutorial on how to build it, I'm not sure about how to use the replacement hardware. I'll post some pictures of the build soon. Oh, and I will surely have a lot of questions for the experts !
