Excellent work so far!

I want to find a tailor to make me a new one .. I like the material from the CB one- the redcap is pretty thick. I want to try and get a somewhat lightweight one that will look the same. They sell patterns for making your own from scratch but I am not that skilled at sewing

There are a few posts that outline what needs to be modded. I didn't do one so unfortunatly I don't have experience in the mods. I did buy one tho and it was very very tight on the shoulders. I am 5'11" and I would prob get a " long" version (L) if I were to order one again.

The person behind KT is the * only * person listed in the Vendor Problems section of this board. Quality is nice however you run the risk of never getting it. He consistently lies.

That is a pretty nice sole on them. May be tough to get the fabric to lay smooth over the stitching and the ribbed part at the toe. Hope it works out for you because the cuts in the side are nice

Good job!

I basically squirted some on my fingers and wiped it on and just let it dry. One of the helmets was all streaky after that so I took a damp towel and wiped the streaks away and it was fine. I also had a pair of goggle like things for my Resident Evil costume which ALWAYS fog up and they were ok as well. Pretty simple yet very effective fix it seems. I used Dawn - forget it of it was blue or green as I have both out

I am totally ok with the costs. I compare the hobby to cars all the time. I enjoy racing but I have never gotten as many compliments / smiles out of people with a car as I do with the costumes. I actually prefer the hobby more now lol.

I thought I was going to come in around $1200 but ended up with 2 pistols and 2 Helmets, plus a tonnnn of various fasteners, Velcro and materials. I'm prob at $2k which is still nothing compared to my tanked Fett budget which I kept a spread sheet for to remind me how much it killed my bank account lol.

I tried the dish soap thing in my Fett and Scout a couple weekends ago. When I wore the scout the TFA premier it fogged up immediately in the parking lot and it was pretty cold out. I wore it to Katsucon where they evacuated everyone out into the streets for over an hour due to a fire alarm going off - it was prob 20some degrees - and I had put the Dawn dish soap all over the lense that morning and it did not fog. No fogging in my Fett either at any point. I was pretty happy with the results since fogging is annoying.

Unfortunatly not right now. I had been spending most of my time building a BoBa Fett which is almost done. I will be picking up making molds and casting stuff soon. I need to make molds for a bunch of Fett parts and start casting this other pistol to sell. It is easier to do a bunch of projects at once so I waste the least amount of material.

Mine is glued with E6000 as well which seems to hold up nice.

I think they come with instructions now didn't it? There isn't a single tutorial post here for them but there are lots of them mixed into various build threads. I started building mine by printing out blown up pics to reference while I worked ( could just have the computer up as well) and reading a tons of posts. Then I just winged it from there. Fit everything up before cutting/drilling with tape or magnets. Getting the sides to line up perfectly was the most challenging part for me.

Before I begin this chosen path...

With the helmets that are readily available I recommend Altmanns and SC to people. The SC is a bit lighter. I noticed it when I tried each in right after the other but got used to the Altmanns right away. Both vendors are great to deal with, don't lie about their time frames and care about the members here- and those things are important to me when you look at the services provided by others.
