Thanks for that! bringing the Kashyyyk on a plane was a bit scary but I secured everything in my suitcase and nothing happened to the armor. That padme is my gf
-

My Kashyyyk has been cleared with both the RL and 501st

I can try and move them slightly but Gio boots are too wide to make it as good as I would like to..

Worked on the brown camo to make it blend more.. used the stippling technique. Getting there with my helmet.. still have to add some elements and stickers.
-
and that's green and brown!
-
I had some problems with paint because the 2nd order came too green. The company sent me some replacement paint.. it came in semi gloss not matt but I am going to paint it with matt crystal clear so it should be good. You can see the difference. Anyway, I was happy with the final colour. It looks just like grumpy's sample. painted shoes: added chrome scratches.. and then started with camo:
-
It shouldn't slip off, it's glued with zap-a-gap. The adhesive backing didn't stick at all but zap-a-gap did the job
-
Yup, these are Gios. I will have to paint the soles.
-
More progress over the last week. Primed: first coat: Pouches attached That's how the belt is attached: Shoes arrived today. Will have to repaint the sole. DC15s painted
-
Slowly getting there.. That's the helmet and back ready for priming. and riding patch Pouches nearly ready. I decided to use strong magnets for flaps to be able to open them. Will get them next week. Also need to assemble the gun which I got from a friend from Poland. I checked all the parts that I have from BC and the biceps greeb makes me wonder how to attach it correctly. Should I cut the little part in half and then use one part on the right side of the greeb and the other on the left just under the large bolt? Also checking the alignment. I am going to attach the belt with snaps to the cummerbund and I would like to place those snaps hidden under pouches. Is it okay?

Didnt have much time because of expo but I did some progress. The tank is finally attached: And some final bondo on the visor.. More to come..
-
Did the side vents ''Roof window'' Tank Some pouches And found perfect knee pads
-
Some updates... Glued the biceps and shins: and sanded: Visor cut out (still have to do the ears and roof top): Now the back piece fix. FIrst of all I glued the back with zap a gap, then taped it with a fibre glass tape and covered with E6000. On the outside it's covered with milliput: Some bondo work: I also did my gloves: And a question - is this belt placement good?

I was away for 3 weeks so I didn't get too much done. Over the weekend I did a basic trim and sanding of the kit and test fit of the bicep and shins. Today I am going to make nice and straight lines with a mouse sander and then work further on my shins with a heat gun because the back side is a bit wider than the front. Then standard gluing and bondo work.. And here's the custom paint that I ordered! As mentioned, I found a company which fills aerosols with matching Dulux paint. http://customfilledaerosols.co.uk/ They ask you for Dulux colour code which is 70YY 57/098 for Gooseberry Fool 4. Paid 28quid for 2 cans but I guess it's worth it. I will post more photos as I progress with this.

I can help with the design. As for the paper, I agree that A3 would be better but it's more expensive. You can always place 2x A4 next to each other and maybe it will work? You can try and get paper from CHina and the activator from ebay. You should save quite a lot that way.

Not sure if you guys know ALiexpress but basically it's a sort of Chinese ebay where people sell individual items as opposed to Aliexpress which is a wholesale supplier. I found a cheaper water transfer film for inkjet printing.. http://www.aliexpres...1893133030.html It's way cheaper than the US one.. 21$ with shipping for 30 A4 pages.. size is not optimal but it's cheap so even if it turns out to be a failure, you won't loose much. Being able to print it in your own printer will allow you to make 100% accurate pattern in colour that you want. I like the idea and I would go for that if I didn't order my paints already. However I am happy to help you, Gio

The kit has arrived: However with one large crack. Suzi offered to make a new pull for the back piece but I would have to send this cracked piece back and tbh, it will create more problems than solutions so I just requested a refund for this piece and I am going to fix it myself. I have found a company which fills aerosols with Dulux paint so I am waiting for Dulux to send me the colour code for the paint which Nate (heatshock) used and I will buy that. Oh and another update, we have agreed a deal with Gio so I will get his replica boots! very excited I am not home for another two weeks so the armor has to wait...
-
The best part now.. boots! It seems that Fila Tripterra are no longer available so I am looking at two options. These boots are in Poland and none of the sellers offers international shipping so I would have to ask friends or family to get them for me. The total cost would be probably $70. I marker required mods with red. ANother option which is easily available in the UK... $46 Option one has better shape of the sole but it's a bit dark. It's also more expensive. What do you think?

2m of A Tacs camo ordered from the US

Thanks! That was relatively easy.. Now the pouches lol I am thinking of using heavy duty snaps to attach them to cummerbund. Do you think it's the right way? My sewing machine doesn't like this thick fabric so I would prefer to limit sewing to a minimum if that's possible
-
I tried to get make it similar to Heatshock's cummerbund and I think it's pretty close. I guess we will find out
