  1. yeah... Just found and read the entire debate... Still not sure what the deal is- which way do I put it on the TD?
  2. Watch how I get my armor before anybody offers the lips and I can't go for lancer down the line due to no lip. seems like a minor detail to not let somebody get lancer status... IMHO it shouldn't be a requirement but a bonus if you have it... But that's just my 2 cents... I obviously don't have a say in all this
  3. Sweet, Would you have to make a new vest due to the shoulder pieces being shorter? I understand the sleeves shouldn't be too long...
  4. Just use lonewolfs technique with the 3mm painters tape (in one piece) and use spray paint for an even coat... the one you got looked hand painted... more likely they dipped it in the paint.
  5. Hope you don't mind me borrowing that boot trick when I make my boots.
  6. That still doesn't explain what on Earth happened to that nose piece.
  7. Ok thanks, so if I ever weather my helmet, (I don't know if I'd want to ) I know what I need
  8. Thanks . For the spray paint, did you tape up where you didn't want the primer and held the can far away to give it that look?
  9. I second what the other Nate said... that's going to get confusing... But It's easy if you take your time, and for those who feel that the costume as a whole is going to be hard... It could work as an ego booster, and might even teach a lesson to new guys patience. That you can't build a good set of armor right out of the box... that is if you start with the boots.
  10. Nice catch! I wouldn't have seen that I know there was a picture of that (something about shots being mirrored) I just couldn't find it. Thanks for clearing my rookie mistake
  11. Just realized, The handles are not accurate... is that the help you need? I don't know how complicated a scooter inside, but I wouldn't want to try rewiring everything .
  12. Nice boots how long did it take you to cut the soles? On a side note, the only thing I can possibly see not 100% accurate, is that the horizontal line should be slightly deeper than the outer sections of the sole, see the left picture: Still, that only matters if your completely OCD... But hey, Marcel's boots with no horizontal stripe passes, This is one step further, I don't see any reason why not... Unless I don't know something everybody else does
  13. Great belt, just one thing, I believe the greeble is up-side-down... Does it matter if it is? here's a pic from the lancer spec page: Anyone know where this pic was taken? Just some info in case it's a pic of an original and you want be super accurate
  14. Nice! Will follow this thread closely. Looking forward to seeing this complete
  15. By the way, how'd you do the scuffs? paint, or did you actually scuff it up? Stupid question.
  16. Yes it did, thanks.
  17. Did you try using a shoe horn?
  18. Thanks Rob, I was going to go for basic Pathfinder status, then work my way up...My end goal was Lancer, but I might as well save my time and resources for Lancer right from the start.
  19. Is that a rivet I see inside the faceplate?... I'm trying to figure this out - Did you rivet the visor to the clip and glue the clamp in the faceplate? Then add the other clips to hold it down? I don't even know if what I just said makes any sense in terms of building a helmet... Mind shedding some light on the subject?
  20. thanks, this is the type of fix I was looking for. whats with the straps for the holster on the pictures?
  21. I second what Chef said, think of where your armor would naturally be weathered. and think of how long your armor has been in service. try to keep too that. As for my opinion, I'd use a bit less weathering... but it's your armor.
  22. Wow. Looking foward to seeing this finished.
  23. Nice thread. I'm likely going to use this for my build
