TB-90277 Lancer Deployment Request (APPROVED)

If it’s any help in sorting the problem, I can only see 2 photos from my phone. However, if I click on one of the “missing images,” it takes me to the Flickr page with the “linked” image visible. -

Brand new and hoping for some advise
Bootlegger137 replied to BrewMongrel's topic in Getting Started
Welcome! I built an SC armor kit to Lancer spec in a one bedroom apartment (using the kitchen counter as a workbench, and sitting on the couch using the coffee table for workspace). It can be done! 😉 I’m not much at sewing, so the soft bits were purchased from fellow forum members...so you’ve got a leg up in that respect. Best of luck! -
Before I submit, can I get a once-over?

Well done! -

I’ve heard that putting the piece in the fridge or freezer helps with that...but I’ve never tried it. -

Only things that jump out is the bicep armor looks a little low...and that dreaded problem with the cod bunching up. These are more “dressing” problems than construction, I think. -

TB-14831 Requesting Lancer Deployment (Approved)
Bootlegger137 replied to Bootlegger137's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Ok...I made adjustments to all the items pointed out. Hopefully, it shows. (BTW...I didn't go "full monty" with the armor, only what was an issue and/or necessary to illustrate the adjustments): - pouches should be between an inch away from the last rib (respectively) and the outer edge of the chest armor Measured and re-positioned each pouch - please try to pull up the cod by about an inch Moved the velcro attachment on the jumpsuit up (a little over) an inch - the drop boxes should hang about an inch higher (please check references) Shortened the belting, and re-adjusted the false buckles - the suit is bunched up a bit, particularly around the knees Did what I could (even had the girlfriend help once I was in position for the pic, in case walking "poofed" it out) -

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve already fixed the boot shaft, oddly enough. I’ll try and get it all fixed and do some updated pics over the weekend. -
I glued my topper first, then added the rivet and washer.

Bootlegger137's Pre-Submission Pics

Aaaannnddd...APPROVED. TB-14831 reporting for duty. -
Biggest thing is the bund might be too small, and belt is too low. As Aliaz said, there should be no gaps/black visible. Try moving the bund and belt up some so there are no gaps.

Bootlegger137's Pre-Submission Pics
Bootlegger137 replied to Bootlegger137's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Here are the final pics I just submitted to my GML. Huge thanks to all for their help, either through their posts or PMs, and whether they know they helped or not. -
Well, finally finished this bad boy up today, and looking for constructive criticism before submitting final pics to my GML. This was basically a test fitting to try and work the kinks out, so don't try to spare my feelings. Armor: SC Bucket: Altmann, with ukswrath TB audio system Flightsuit: Chunk Vest: Chrisx909x Cummerbund, Cod & Pouches: Chrisx909x Boots: Chrisx909x Gloves: WampaWear Blaster: Darth Voorhees EDIT: Looks like the belt could stand to be a little higher. Also, no weathering as yet. Will probably give that a go in the spring when it's warmer, or if I get a nice day somewhere before that.

The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!
Bootlegger137 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Apparently they did, but were worn under the flightsuit. The mannequin in the costume book was dressed wrongly. I think there are a couple of threads on the forum about it. -

Bummer. Looks like that Photobucket hosting nonsense has hit this thread. -
Those are the SC ones. I heated them up with a heat gun, and used a ball to create the concave part. Used a slightly larger diameter hose, too.

Not a ton of progress, but finished my TD:

Working on my SC armor, and getting to the chest and back pieces. Running into a dilemma I'm hoping to get feedback on. The SC kit does not have return edges. Looking at screencaps, it appears that there were small return edges (1/8" or so). I can add them, but that will leave the shoulder strap/bridge with a width of 1 3/8". Is that too narrow? Suggestions and advice greatly appreciated.

Elastic strapping done for the most part. Still need to do the shoulders and tank.
