Scout.Trooper's Scout Trooper Build!
Landeaux replied to scout.trooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I got my velcro from Hancock Fabrics and I think the elastic also. -
When I removed the greeblie on my TD, that was attached with e6000 I used a box cutter. Starting at one corner, ease the blade under the greeblie and gently pry it up. Continue pushing the blade further in, then pry it up. Go slow, also don't try to pop it off all at once.

Some close-ups of various parts. Helmet armor pieces -
I am requesting review for Lancer status. Here is some information on my build: armor--SC helmet--CB blaster--Duff's gloves--SA also based on the threads about under arm chest straps, I went with 1 1/2 straps dyed to match pouches and drop box straps. Real suede was used for butt flap and riding patches.
-
I'm about the same height and my pouches are the same as Rob said above 5" wide, 6" tall, 2" deep.
-
A tip on the pouches is to scale down the template. For example, I'm 5'6" and made my pouches to the measurements of 5" wide x 6" tall x 2" deep. The trick is to keep the proportions of the template. All in all, good job

the second one goes on the TD

Thanks guys, I'm trying to finish up for Star Wars Reads day. I have to wear socks, the next thing you will tell me is I should wear clean underwear in case I run my speeder bike into a tree
-
Getting closer to finishing my scout, just have hip boxes and boots left to complete. Thought I had some more photos but this was the only one to come out. I know the right shoulder bell came undone, and the right bicep & forearm should be a bit higher, past that is there any glaring problems I need to address.
-
I bought a pair of men's suspenders that are 1 & 3/8" wide to use for lancer specs.
-
not a tailor, but I tried to make a cummerbund and vest. still have to try and make pouches and boots, also finish hip boxes.
-
Here are a couple of better shots of some boots I found. My question is would the soles pass lancer specs as they are Also this is the vinyl at a local fabric store, is it too textured?
-
They are a vintage women's KANGAROOS Survival Hiking Boot that happened to be in a big enough size to fit me. I found them on ebay. Here's a slightly larger picture, I should receive them in about a week or so I can get better idea how they look then.
-
Would these boot soles work for lancer specs? or just basic? Sorry about the small pic, couldn't get it to upload from photobucket
-
Yeah, I think when I attach them to the t-straps on the chest piece the shoulders should sit higher.
-
Here is my CB helmet. I changed the visor bolts to the 3M bolts, replaced decals with Trooperbay's and finally added a chin cup. I need to get padding to complete it.
