Fiberglass Scout bucket from ebay

Hi, here is a link to my photobucket library http://s1339.photobucket.com/user/jpmas09/library/. After working with the helmet, and wearing it for a bit, I am quite happy with it. If you are just looking for a helmet to wear right away and not worry about Lancer, then it would be more than fine. I ordered the padding for the bikerscout helmet off of eBay from a guy in Argentina, it took a while to get here about 2 weeks, but it was really worth it. If you have any more questions, I will be happy to help. I will take more pics of the helmet and post them to my photobucket. Have a great night!- 64 replies

I think I bought the same Fiberglass helmet from eBay! It is slightly larger than others that I have seen. It has a little bit of weight to it, but managable. Down sides are that you cannot replace the side bolts because they are pieces of color plastic with a long screw that is glued to it. I bought the replacement bolts that were Lancer specs and they will not fit. I am going to have to modify those to make the bolts work. Also, Griffin X pointed out to me the ear holes were smaller than usual so I had to open them up and remove the mesh in the ears. And the color was a little off white because of the Fiberglass, so my armor and helmet do not match exactly. I would ask to see the inside of the bucket, it has very cheap foam padding. I had to buy more padding that was shaped for a scout trooper bucket for the inside and now it is a little more comfortable. I still had to put some more work into it to get it up to Lancer specs and I am hoping it will pass Oh and I need to add a chincup which I am hoping that it fits because of the chinstrap that is attached. Unless the builder has changed the molding you may end up with the same problems I had. I do have pics up in my build thread. Hope this helps.- 64 replies

Hello all, Here is a pic of my armor build that I completed on Friday, I have not gotten pics of me in the correct format (sides, front, back etc that show all details). I am having trouble with my CB as you can see they are really low. Is there a reccomended area on where the pouches should be placed? and what do you reccommend to keep that darn thing up? Thanks again!

Thanks Chef for that tip! I think that would work great and would make the velcro a little more secure, going to try that tonight. Everything is looking awesome and getting ready to submit my application to the 501st. Thanks!

Thanks! And I took your advice to practice on milk jugs to get a feel for the rivets. I broke one rivet gun in the process, but the second one I bought was a higher model and seems to work pretty well. Finishing adjusting all the straps and soft armor and will be posting pics of the full suit by Friday. Thanks for all your help. Still trying to figure out the best way to adjust the belt. I did sew the back straps to the belt and it looks pretty good and as for the TD I just used zip ties for now but would like to have something a little nicer and more secure. Looking for the Alice clips. Thanks again for all your help during my build!

Just Finished adding the Holster and I had to modify the heels to add the line in the sole. The soles were cut with a single line so I added pieces on the boot to give it the look for Lancer Specs.

Hello All, As some of you may know a few weeks ago I received some not so well made armor and returned it. I am happy to announce that I am the proud owner of some new armor from a Master Craftsman of Biker Scout Armor! I am currently adjusting the armor to fit comfortably with my flight suit, vest and CB. Below are some pictures as I go through the process. Again I have to thank the Craftsman who helped a fellow biker scout when he was in trouble! I am currently working on the belt assembly (going to reference the online forum)and will post pics once completed. Any input and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I found a Fiberglass helmet that was going to be used for 501st acceptance on eBay. Looking at the helmet it looked pretty precise excpet for the mesh in the ears and possible a little of white when compared to the armor, but I am guessing that is because fiberglass compared to plastic. And the state that he had all the armor that he did not have time to start because of other duties with the military...totally understand. I contacted him asked over and over if all that needs to be done is trimmed and assembled and he stated yes. But when I got it all the bicep, forearm, knee caps and chest had been trimmed and assembled to his size, quite a bit smaller and trimmed it to someone who was 5'9...being 6'1 and having a 46" wide chest there was some issues even when adding extra velcro. I paid a little more than I should have... but I learned that I should have came on here first to ask about good armor. The gloves are amazing and the blaster I am not sure of. I will need a ruling on that in another thread. I am going to contact SC and see if I can just buy replacement parts that I need to salvage what I have in my possession. Thanks everyone. I will try the steps above and trim around the drop box and also see how I can align the tank a little nicer. Going to look at some pics in the forum.

Thanks everyone! going out today and getting the reccommended items. I will post pictures of my progress with the build. The armor came today, so I cannot wait to open and start.

So with out rivets will pass for Lancer status? I thought there was one rivet needed for the belt. Still learning the standards. Thx!

Thanks PanzerKraken! Will do. I may have more piercings after testing the rivet gun. Time for the pliers and bandaids.

Hello All, My armor is arriving tomorrow and the mission begins. I am new to the armor assembly, what does everyone use for rivets? Such as attaching the boot holster and belt assembly? And what type of tool is used to attach rivets? Ok, here is the main question: What do I need to buy? Thanks!
