  1. Thanks for the response! I looked at the imperialsurplus assembly videos this weekend but wanted to know if there was set standard to assemble the shins. I was thinking that keeping the fronts open was probably the clean looking option for being able to put the shins on. (If I can't just slip them on fully closed)
  2. Sorry for posting but I could not find this using the search function. How should the shins be assembled? Should they be permanently glued together so that my foot just slides in? Should they be assembled with the back permanently close and the fronts open so the cover plate fits over the join after I slide my foot in? My kit is the imperialsurplus V2 kit. Thank you in advance for any input.
  3. I once had an SC helmet and I used white silicone caulk to hide the seam. It was a cheap and quick fix. The only issue is making sure the white caulk matches relatively well with the ABS.
  4. My garrison XO made a YouTube video showing how everything gets put on. Follow the link:
  5. Ah, OK! Thanks!
  6. Nice find! Would it be possible to post some pics of the cutouts around the soles? It would be nice to see them for reference.
  7. Leather TB boots made by zhongvader of imperialboots. They were custom made to my measurements in less than 3 weeks. They are 10.5 and fit my length perfect. They are a bit narrow but in all fairness I have wide feet and wear orthotics too. With a little stretching and oiling these will fit like a glove. I'm very happy with how these turned out
  8. Hello all! I'm Paul from the Northeast Remnant garrison. I've finally gotten around to posting a WIP thread here. I've successfully put together an ESB Fett, ROTS Clone trooper and ANH Vader. I'm also currently finishing up a Sandtrooper and TIE Pilot (I'm a busy guy. Lol!) Please feel free to add comments and criticisms. I'm not looking for Lancer status right now but I want to be reasonably close. I think I prefer a more real world look than prop look for now. As I learn more about the costume I'll make a decision. I don't want to completely break the bank. Neither do I want to wait years for armor so I went with a full helmet/ armor kit from Studio Creations. My PMs with him were always answered quickly and the kit arrived in a week. The kit comes with a lot of the trimming already done so it was a great surprise. I will be disassembling the helmet and painting the interior black tonight. I installed a 3M speedglas liner in it but opted to use the stock SC visor bolts. I chose to place mesh behind the ears anyway. Its easy to pull out later if I wish to go Lancer. The snout has a hollow aerator with metal mesh I installed. I liked the look and its another small vent I could use in a small helmet. The snout is bolted on. My teenager (who claims to be only a closet Star Wars fan now) liked the helmet and wanted a pic with my T21. Lol!
  9. I used the ear decals as templates for cutting.
  10. Since most guys just use a work boot as the base for TB boots, couldn't you find a female work boot? I know my wife had a pair of work boots she used for the snow some years ago.
  11. What about a spring of some sort?
  12. It looks as if the clip is rivited to a bar right under the coils. Could this be a rigid, tightly wound, coil material? Hollow on the inside with just a bar or somwthing inside?
  13. I have finally pulled the trigger on a TB after months of indecision. I opted for the cleaner build. I've done done a Fett, Vader, and am wrapping up a Sandtrooper build. I'm tired of doing these epic builds which have been taking up time and space in my workshop. Lol
  14. Very cool! ... and I got to see your Gree at CVI! Lol! What are you doing for the cumberbund?
