I reduced the weathering and took the Scout out into 'the woods' for a photoshoot. The result:

Well, I had a lot of stuff to do last year but still finished my build. Today, I started weathering it and to be honest, I didn't cut corners while painting. I really like a dirty look and I do see that this build is quite dirty ... I am kindly asking for opinions: Is it TOO dirty? I just finished the weathering two hours ago, so I am still in the phase of looking at it and asking myself whether I like it or not.

That's a question I have already asked myself. The vest wasn't too long, but I guess I'll have to figure that out once the parts are ready to wear.

Finally, I will have some time to start the build. Here's a quick comparison between the as-is and to-be armor: The blaster also fits nicely into the new holster:

Alrighty, I picked up my MC armor at my local customs office, yesterday. I am not sure when I will find the time to start my build, but I am so excited that I had to open this thread now. The parts look amazing and I am very much looking forward to building this baby. I will keep you guys in the loop and post pictures as I work on it.

I also thought about using a fan but decided to leave the helmet as it is. For German temperatures that's fine ... luckily I am not living in Texas, might be too hot for me

That's exactly what I did - and I am very happy with it.

Thanks to some recommendations here I am using the 10W Aker amp I placed in a pouch. I am using a neckworn mic which I put into the helmet. With a little hole in my cummerbund (behind by the pouch) and the back of the pouch the wire goes invisibly through the flightsuit into the amp. Wired system, no static burst, no PTT.

I have just received my headband (for a welding helmet) and will use this and the chin cup to make sure everything is in place. As the others, I used back material to make sure you only see black when looking through the ear holes. I can post a pic once I am done.

I am currently working on a flight suit and I am looking for the right material for the mud flap and the crotch riding patch. I thought about getting velour leather or real suede - I read the comments above and wondered wheather you experienced any problems with washing the suede? I had some people recommending to use syntethic leather as it would not be a good idea to wash velour leather/ real suede. Any recommendations/ opinions?
