  1. Yeah - I did as much research as poss on the greeb - It seems to be an "either way" thing since there were "flipped" images used in the movie. So no gap between the bund and armor - got it!
  2. I tired to fool everyone with one of the shoulders... the strap popped off while I was taking pictures so I just tried to hold it in place! Good eye! Nothing in the pouches - my wife told me to put something in them and I said they looked okay (strike two) I actually had the jumpsuit hemmed - being "heavy" and short - it just doesn't hang quite right. I lowered the thigh boxes cause I thought they were too high (strike 3?) There is nothing over the shoulder (except black velcro) so these need to be covered? Poppers = snaps right? lol Thanks guys!
  3. Hi! I am getting ready to submit my scout for approval. I am missing the mudflap but everything else should be complete. Please let me know anything that would HAVE to be fixed to get approval. Thanks for you input!
  4. Okay - general consensus is better decals - where do I pick these up? How do I order an MC snout? I'm confused about trimming the eyes - do I just need to make the top edge straighter? Thanks so much for the input!
  5. Yeah, I need to remove and paint then reattach (straight) the snout. Do I need to redo the fish hook? I'm afraid to try and remove and recenter it. What do you think?
  6. Here is my (almost) completed KS Helmet! Whew! It was hard to do - but it looks pretty good (not great) I have to put the gray screw covers on and velcro the visor down and that should be about it. I guess I also need to paint the upper half of the snout greeblie gray. Did I do it right? Hopefully there are no major mods to be done Would this be approvable? Thanks!
  7. I guess I need to replace my KS snout greeb as well.... It's not supposed to be all black is it? Where can I get one? Thanks!
  8. I was thinking more like did I cut off all of the parts that aren't supposed to be there - I still have a bit of fine trimming to do....
  9. Hello! I am in need to serious help. I have my KS kit and am starting to work on it. I think I am confused as to how much and where I should be trimming Here are the pictures of my trims so far... What do I need to do before I start to actually assemble? Please help!! Thanks!
  10. I posted this on the 501st forum - then figured here would be better..... I just received my KS biker scout helmet kit and I have a question for those in the know. It seems there are quite a few warps - bubbles and general imperfections - I know it's not trimmed yet - but are these parts covered when assembled - parts that will be trimmed - otherwise of no consequence? I don't want to cut into it and find out that I need to get it replaced. Pictures attached - look closely at the parts with the warps etc and tell me if it's something I need to worry about or not! Thanks my brothers!
  11. Here are some updated pictures. Still need to adjust the ammo boxes and get rid of the rivets on the webbing in front. Adjusted shoulders. Added holster (and blaster!) Fixed Right boot. Painted rivets and gray box on front. Still need to attach mudflap/straps/saddle. I guess I need to clip off or hide the zipper pulls on my legs. Any further advice is always appreciated!
  12. If for some horrible reason I can only have 1 rivet - what do I do? I mean, there's already two holes in the belt! The webbing isn't a problem but the abs is! I would have some kind of horrible attack if I had to replace the belt! I redid the boots today - and attached the holster - not much of a problem. Reworked the elastic on the biceps using a snap on one side and sticky velcro on the other - they should be long enough to slide up now! It's a good thing too - I forgot I still have the vest to put on! Thanks!
  13. Ok - shoudler bells higher (I think I put the elastic on too tight and am having trouble sliding the shoulders up where they need to be) Thigh boxes - I haven't really adjusted them yet - was waiting until I tried it on (which I have now!) I riveted EVERYTHING as I can't sew and thought this would be easier - I can't get away with those rivets if I paint them white (which I have now)? The page on Biker Scout approval doesn't say anything about how many rivets or about not riveting the straps in front - where do I find this info? I got the suede for the mudflaps etc... not sure how I'm gonna do that though! I knew something was weird with the boot velcro! The tutorial said "remember there is a right and left:" and I couldn't figure out how that made a difference! Thanks for the tips! I painted the gray bar on the front and painted all of the rivets white... Will do more work and send updated pictures soon! I
  14. Hello. I recently bought an SC kit and have been working on it. Other than the tinkering with my TK kit (restraping etc) this has been a new experience for me. I have a ways to go - but I thought I would share my progress. I have a KS helmet on the way and cumberbund/vest/pouches on order. I made my boots today (whew) - not perfect but I'm still pretty proud of the work. I have some adjusting to do (one box in front hangs a bit lower than the other) but for the most part I think I'm on my way to approval. Take a look and let me know how I'm doing. Thanks! Wow I look fat without a cumberbund - that tiny chest armor looks pretty silly! Hmm.. the pictures are rotated in photobucket - not sure what I did wrong here.....
  15. Wow! You're not kidding! Ant idea how tough it will be to make it 501st standards (what needs to be sewn on etc?) Great thread - very helpful in my own search for a flight suit Thanks!
