  1. thank you buddy! even if it looks better, there's still space for improvement. receiving critiques/ support / encouragement is always great
  2. Hi, it's been a long time since I started this project ( Feb 2013) . but after a long hiatus ( and a snowtrooper build ) I have pictures of my scout helmet 2.0 basically all the molds have been heavily modified. and the visor molds restarted from zero cause they just weren't right. I can't say is over because there is still some things to fix. but definetly much better than v. 1.0 anyway I leave it to your judgement, here are some pics
  3. hi! I started this topic on 28 february 2013. so more than a year has passed and finally I have something in my hand that resembles a bikerscout helmet. even if working by myself, I have received precious help in the bikerscout forum. so thank you guys!! I still have some questions ..... how should I do the hole in the ears and where do I need to paint black? all inside the helmet?? visor and faceplate are not attached in my helmet , only the 3m bolt keep them together but there's still some movement in between. not sure how to solve this.... ok here's some pictures ok here's some pictures
  4. I have finally assembled and painted the helmet!! it's NOT 100% perfect , the sealing line is still visible . I also run out of plastic and my supplier seems to have disappeared ( ninja guy). anyway I have learned a few tip and tricks.. next one will look better. I will upload some more pix as soon as I get the visor and glue the nose detail.. ah and I don't have decals, I don't even know if decals for other helmets will work here...
  5. useful tips . I'm in the sanding/ painting process too...
  6. hello scout troopers! helmet is getting me crazy! I have no idea how to paint, but I have managed to put the bucket together. as you can see here I tried to paint it, but it was rubbish. so I sanded a little bit more... fingers crossed
  7. Problem solved!!!! what was wrong? the frame wasn't lined with the sealing strip on the table.... I'll show pictures soon ok, here come the pics: it's no assembled-painted yet, I also drew a line were it needs to be cut
  8. bad news! I'm trying to vacuumform the face of the helmet, and it doesn't work. looks like the machine can't suck enough air.... maybe the mold is too big or high. I did some holes on the visor , but it doesn't change. before I waste more plastic, I need to find a solution
  9. great image! I'd like to know more about the origin of the biker scout helmet . was it based on a ralph mc quarrie concept? is the name of the original sculptor known?
  10. slow progress but it's something, here's some pics of visor and faceplate. on the back you can see the rest of the helmet still waiting to be painted.
  11. after summer holidays, I'm back at work! actually working on faceplate and visor mold. I really want to finish this as soon as possible. It has been going on for too long!
  12. here's a picture of the faceplate. still hard to tell it will be a faceplate. We'll see what happens
  13. Once again I need help from the BS community! I'm starting to build the mould for the faceplate. I'm currently watching pictures and taking measures. But I'm not going to make the nose greeblie. it would help me a lot to have this greebile. this way I can build the mold around it and make everything look more accurate . So the great question is : where can I buy one? in the meantime it would be great to know the measures of the greeblie . grazie !! daniel
