  1. Grrrrreat work on this. I really like the boots.
  2. Here they are laid out. My armor only covers about 1" of the top of the cummerbund. So there's a big gap. I guess I'll sell 'em.
  3. The prob is my abdominal section is too long. I'm 6' 4" so it doesn't surprise me.
  4. Oh no. Looks like I'm in a bit of a dilemma.
  5. You know what, I was thinking it was supposed to be green. I over looked that detail. Now that you say that, I see in the reference pictures that it is gray. After I fix the belt color, attach the pouches, and weather the cummerbund, I just have the riding patch (crotch area material) and thigh pockets to do. Then it's done! I think the sewing of the pockets and riding patch is going to be a pain.
  6. Thanks! I worked on them last night and tonight for a couple hours. Here's the results.
  7. Awesome. Thanks for the info! I fallowed your instructions that you put in the box and they came out great. I used Mineral Spirits to clean off the mold release. Used Bondo spot filler to fill the air bubbles.
  8. OK, I'll use Velcro. You convinced me they'll stay put. I posted pictures in my build thread of how they look so far. They don't look much different than my last post but now they have a little color on them.
  9. The base coat is down after many days of bondo and primer. Now Just waiting for it to cure and I'll put the camo down. Then attach them. I really like these boxes. Very light. Is the one that I circled supposed to be used somewhere? He said he included a couple extra in the shipment to use for practice. Not sure if this is them.
  10. So I'm half way through painting the pouches for my Kashyyyk Trooper. I am wondering how others have attached them to the vest. I was thinking Velcro would be the easiest, but I think kids would pull those off. They already try to pull other things off my other costumes. I've had kids run off with my pistols before. I was also thinkiing buttons, but you have to place those perfectly and it seems like a headache. Glue was another method I was thinking about. How do you guys do it? Chad
  11. I got my boxes and started working on them.
  12. I got my boxes today. They are so light, if you hold one in your hand you can hardly feel it. Time to get back to work on the costume!
  13. Thanks for the reply on the riding patch. I still haven't attempted it myself.
  14. How did you come up with your riding patch pattern. I can't figure out how I'm going to make that.
  15. Thanks dudes. I always thought yours looked awesome! You're too critical! The cummerbund does fit really good! Nicely made. I got the belt attached today. Now all I have to do is wait on the pouches. I need to figure out how I'm going to sew the crotch saddle material and move the pockets on the pants. That's the next big step then I should be close to done.
