  1. Top work Gents!!!! I tried talking to HI Tec a couple of years ago and spoke to the Managing Director eventually, he explained that the design drawings were destroyed 12 years post final production. I tried to get a dialogue going in order to see if a run would be possible. I didn't hear anything after that and subsequent correspondence went unanswered. If you can get a result then we'll done!!!! That would certainly be very cool indeed. I recently (ok quite a while ago) got a woodland camo pair from Dart with a view to getting a 3D scan of the sole. Once tidied up then a CAD/CAM file can be used to make moulds for new soles. I then planned to attach them to the uppers of a set of palladiums. A bit of a hybrid but the end look should be good I hope. The good news is that the 3D scan is complete and the vectors need to be tidied and details added. Not my field but I'm going to give it a go. Downside is that I'm in the UK Military and currently in the U.S. Until mid October. All my projects take a long long time as I spend on average about 5 months a year overseas. Keep up the good work fellas and I sincerely hope you have more luck than I did!!!!! There is a thread buried in the boots section with the actual email I got from Hi-Tec. Andy.
  2. Don't want to cause a fuss Rob but I have an image from the same scene and the rivet looks au naturale to me. Maybe my eyes are old and knackered but for the sake of continuity I thought I'd mention it!!! The MOM Scout has unpainted rivets but we may be dealing with on screen lighting causing some difference in appearance????
  3. Tags, please accept my lack of communication. I had to disappear for a last minute job and have now returned to the UK. I'll get the gear to the posty on Friday afternoon and get a price for you. I had to go at short notice so couldn't get in the boards before I went, again please accept my apologies. A.
  4. I'm at work until tomorrow afternoon buddy but I'll wrap em up and get a price for you. Do you want them all? Andy.
  5. Ok buddy, I've rifled through my box of old uniform and I have three shirts and one pair of windproof trousers. The shirt sizes are: Height/Chest - 170/96 (x2) and 170/104. The trousers are: Leg/Waist/Seat - 76/88/104. All of these sizes are in cm. You'll have to find a tape measure and see if they are plausible for you. If you want them, I'm happy to part with them for the price of postage. Andy.
  6. I've still got a box full of them in my garage. They were issued to me so I can vouch for their authenticity. I'll have a route through this weekend and see if I've got anything that maybe suitable. No promises as they could be a mishmash of sizes as I was quite skinny when I joined up. Not so skinny now though :-).
  7. Its not very interesting but it appears to come from backpacker magazine issue 44.
  8. I can only surmise that they are the III's as I have a copy of a magazine from around the mid 80's and those were the ones on sale at the time.
  9. I spoke to Si from RS a couple of weeks ago and they're almost there with their helmet. They are releasing it as built for the movies so it maybe a little too fragile for trooping as it will be 2mm abs.
  10. Inter and Hi-Tec were the same company. Only Hi-Tec remains I'm afraid. I think the type of sneaker we're looking for is the Sierra Sneaker III and I think we'll be hard pushed to find them I'm afraid.
  11. Time to give Rob and Si a call I feel gents!!!!
  12. These pics may help??? As discussed, the Don Post is more sqat than the LW but there are numerous dimensions that are identical. That explains the differing look between them.
  13. I'd plump for a two part epoxy mate. Araldite here in the UK is what I use for all sorts of stuff.
  14. Nice start!!!!! Looking forward to more.
  15. Congratulations Ian, welcome!!!!!!!
