It looks to me like one of the reasons the shoulder bell is so hard to pin down to the right shape is because it looks so thin that it's flexible and bending in the different shots... Just my two cents but I think Madphisto's screenshots show distinct bending in the shoulder bells. -

If anyone finds grey hose, I'll be impressed! I looked through Home Depots and Lowe's for a month and finally just spray painted my black hose grey. That overlay bit was pretty cool! Since I haven't sounded off in a while... still nice work coming Frank. I saw there's a couple more pics in the gallery of some behind-the-scenes dressing on some biker scouts that might be worth checking for the shoulder bells if that's still a tough spot. -

That would be jpeg 294 uploaded by army scout, on page 2 of the screen caps section on BSN I believe you nailed it right though. -

This is the best screencap on the knee I've seen: -

I've actually got a (very!) little bit of experience with leather. I can tell you dye will never get you the bright white you're wanting. I suggest finding another use for it because although you might have some success with a high quality leather paint, but it will give in to cracking and flaking within a little bit of time. Wasn't it The Graduate that came up with the famous quote..?.. "Plastics young man, plastics." -

Since I haven't waded in on this one in a while, let me just reiterate: /drooooooooooooooooool... Anticipation on this project is driving my blood pressure up! Keep up the amazing work! -

I think the answer was -- this is just the template material, not the final product material, right? The rest of this just sounds like Ewok chatter to me! -

Agreed! On the other hand, I've said it before and I'll say it again -- I'M not artisan. So is the material you're using just for molds or templates in the process of making armor or is this the actual material? Reason being, if it shatters while working on it, that could be a freaking tragedy while trooping! -

Dude, thats about the highest praise a non-artist could ask for. Glad to be of help. -
I love being able to bounce this stuff off you guys. All things considered, we're all on the same page. One other thing in semi-defense of Hasbro and to throw another though out there. Anyone notice that some of the toys, including the BARC Troopers, came before the movie was released? With CGI graphics, is it at all possible that one trooper could have been switched out for another type of trooper with a few keystrokes? I'm way out of my league on the computer programming end of this, but if they used skeletal values with programmable applications to those skeletal tracings, would it have been possible that Hasbro had it the "BARC troopers" would be on the BARCs and then things were switched? I know I'm reaching, but making the wrong character to go on a vehicle, deliberately, seems nutty too...

His armor too it looks like. But here's the next part of that question: The AT-RT driver's are wearing what looks like regular clone armor, painted camo, but with a bucket that looks 1/2 way between our BARCs and a regular clone, but the distinctive scout snout is there. ...I think we're going to have to add that bad boy into this project too! Hehehe...

So it looks like everyone's mostly happy calling Commander Gree's unit (the Elite 41st Corps) by our chosen nickname of BARC Troopers, even though they were not the ones on BARCS. It makes sense enough considering we started with the final evolution which clearly has merged the ROTS barc riders with the 41st to make bikerscouts... Here's my question: Where's Commander Gree fall in this? His armor appears (please correct me if I'm wrong) to be regular Clone Trooper armor, repainted in camouflage, with some suspender looking straps. He commands the 41st Elite, which we're calling BARC troopers. Does the BARC project include him since he's different then his troops, or do we send that discussion back to CloneTroopers.net for their Clone Commanders forums? Just throwing a Cog in the wheel... well, because I like cogs

For some reason this amazing thread escaped me and as I read I wished I'd been with it all along, but I wasn't. I'm going to throw a couple of cents in now though. The hip boxes are an item I've taken particular interest in -- I can't really explain why. I'm not a drafter, computer aided or not, so I'll just link to a pic and tell you what I'm seeing. http://www.bikerscout.net/forums/index.php...=si&img=102 It looks to me like the sides of the hip boxes flare out at a wider angle than anyone seems to produce right now. Frank, your project at it's current progress is clearly enough to show you are a master artisan. I jokingly tell my coworkers, "I don't envy, I hate." So let me pay you the compliment. I don't know you, but I hate you. Keep up the good work and I'll keep drooling on my keyboard. Meh, looking back, the link I listed doesnt illustrate the point as well as a couple others I don't see here on the boards anymore, but I originally got from here... last I tried to upload a pic it showed my global space was used up, but I'll try it and someone can maybe tell me if I'm sending these wrong. ...Well I tried, but I'm getting the message that: THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND The total filespace required to upload all the attached files is greater than your per post or global limit. Please reduce the number of attachments or the size of the attachments. If you want me to email the pics directly to you, let me know and I'll be happy to send them.
