Hey Mark, Don't make yourself crazy with the bullet tank fitting to the back plate. On the SC armor, same one I have, they don't fit seemlessly together. No matter how you do it there will be some gaps and spaces. The good news is if you look at some of the screen caps from RotJ, the screen used suits had gaps as well. I used E6000 glue to attach the tank to the back. The back plate itself has a ridge that the tank goes over. I spread the E6000 around the outer edge of that ridge and then placed thae tank onto it as best I could. Let it dry overnight and It's good to go. Just make sure you do the rivet on top of the black tank topper piece first. I found it easier to do before mounting the tank on the back piece.

Yeah, I have and extra KS bucket layiing around that I wasn't sure if I was going to try to sell or trade... but seeing the development of this helmet pretty much makes up my mind. I'm going to have to sell it to score some funds for one of these bad boys. That is one beautiful helmet.

Hi guys, I just received the more accurate snout from MC to upgrade my KS bucket with and I'm planning to do the rest of the lancer mods as well. I read the tutorial, and while it's a great guide on what to do and how to do it, I was wondering if anyone who's done it can tell me what you used for the flat, gray visor bolt covers and where you got them? I'm looking to avoid disassembling the helmet and replacing the bolts themselves if possible. I'd really like to just pry off the furniture sliders that are on there and find some flat plastic discs with the appropriate diameter. Thanks

Nice job on the cuts. Don't sweat the blood man, probably the first of many if you enjoy this hobby. I'm still working on my boots and actually managed to stab myself in the belly with a #11 exacto blade doing my lancer sole cuts, lol. (Not too deep, didn't hit anything vital, lol) I could only think to myself, "I lived in Brooklyn for 25 years and THIS is how I get stabbed?" I think the attending PA in the emergency room wanted to have me comitted, lol. My wife was surprisingly understanding though. Good times, good times.

Great idea to go with automotive pinstripe tape... I definitely never thought of going that route. Thanks everybody. I was going to take my chances with a sharpie but I think that's a waaay better idea, lol.

I have a question regarding the rank stripes and the u-shaped stripe on the rear bullet tank. Do you guys typically paint these on or are they decals that you get somewhere? Thanks

Hey Chex, Would you mind PM'ing me the store you ordered those straps from? I've been going nuts looking for 2 inch wide webbing to use for the main belt. My SC kit came with webbing but it seems to be all nylon which won't cut it for the lancer reqirements. Thanks

I just ordered SC Armor myself and I'm hoping to go for Pathfinder and Lancer right from the get-go. Do you think the lip that sticks out from the back armor to mount the bullet tank sticks out enough that E6000 would work to hold it on? I used E6000 in quite a few spots for my TK build and I'm wondering if it would work for this as I imagine it's a lot easier than working with epoxy. I've also never even seen a heat gun, let alone used one to reshape plastics, lol. If the E6000 works then I could just add a decorative, functionless rivet to the top to satisfy the Lancer requirement.

found another potential bucket.

Yeah man; that's a good idea. I'm currently putting together a scout uniform and just finished my stormtrooper about a month ago. If there's anything I've learned about this hobby during my road to joining the 501st it's that shortcuts are never worth it. I spent 11 months working on my stormtrooper and even though I've been approved for trooping I'm still not totally thrilled with it, lol. Occaisionally you'll find a decent deal on a known commodity in the "for sale" forum section here, but I've learned that the popular sellers KS, MLC, LSFU, SC etc... are popular beacause of their great track record. Sure you might save $100 buying something on the 'Bay, but you have no idea what you're getting, where it's from and how much work you'll need to put into it to make it acceptable. Since that sellers items are fiberglass, it would make it even more difficult to mod and make the necessary changes. I finally decided to go with a KS helmet and the extra $100 I'm spending to get it is a very worthy investment in peace of mind. You'll have a helmet that's pretty much good to go right out of the box. It will likely just need some sort of interior suspension or padding to make it really wearable.
