  1. I just took another look at a good helmet speaker tutorial over on FISD. As most have pointed out, I'd have to agree that I probably won't get the desired volume out of a single tiny aerator speaker. If I can correctly replicate the mod on FISD, I might have better luck mounting a larger speaker in a resonating chamber just behind the aerator. I'll post on my progress as soon as I have something to report...
  2. Hey Scouts, I ordered a hollow snout plate from MC with the intent of internalizing the audio system for my helmet. I have the sound board/driver and the mic, but I do not have a suitable speaker for the aerator. I've seen limited runs offering these kinds of speakers here in the past, but don't see any that look to be active. I figure I'll look on the open market, but I was hoping to get some recommendations for sizes/makes/brands with which anyone here has had any luck. Thanks, Jim
  3. Good points. Thanks. Maybe I'll rivet through the back plate and use a snap on the chest plate. I have a bunch of 1" black webbing that I could use as the main support and have it inside the white elastic...
  4. I was trying to come up with a strong simple and screen accurate method of attaching the chest and back plates at the shoulder. I liked one member's recent build thread that showed the pieces joined with 1 1/2 inch (I think) white elastic secured to the underside of of each with a single rivet. I'm a big fan of the rivets, but I guess most folks would still want to cover the gap with white cloth or something similar. What if you simplified it and just sewed a tube of white elastic cloth that would cover the gap and then rivet it to the underside of each plate through the bottom of the elastic tube. I plan on doing this, but I wanted to get some feedback before I start drilling extra holes into my armor. Thanks
  5. Thanks. It's one of my favorite Kenner box art pictures. The specks seem to be little crumbs of crud melted into the plastic. I suppose I could sand 'em and paint the whole bucket like the real props, but I feel like that defeats part of the reasons for getting the KS bucket in the first place.
  6. Hey guys, I just received my KS kit and all of the parts seem to be good pulls for the most part, except I noticed a bunch of dark raised speckles on the visor. It looks as if there might have been some dust or debris on the plastic or in the molds during molding. They're really small and I'm probably being a little nit-picky, but I wondered if anyone else had seen this before. If so, is it something that a little ABS polish might take care of? Thanks, Jimmy
