its wording took a while to work out the idea is to give the impression that there is a undercoat. You can do it in a layered style, ie the way comm tech has done it or topically ie finishing your cammo job than applying the silver or chrome topically. The wording also allows for none to be on at all. But if it IS on, then it should NOT be a clearance issue. Unfortunately - individual Garrison GML will be a rule onto themselves. And nothing can seriously be enforced, despite evidence to the contrary. the silver/chrome showing through is there. How you achieve the look is up to you. We have never stipulated that the layered technique is the only way to go. I have spent 2 years with numerous discussions over that time with various people who have complained abt the lack of a CRL, and then once it was established as to how it wasnt good enough. We can continue arguing ad infinitum about it - as at the end of the day - its image interpretation and there is always variants in how some one sees the same pic. The CRL is not perfect. BUt it is what it is. And it was agreed to by consensus so that we can all play of the same "standard". Not that the standard is 100% correct, as the lack of a real world item means that we cannot by defination ever be 100%. But it is that standard that we aspire to so that we all look like an standard army, rather than what ever the individual wants it to look like for themselves.

KASHYYYK TROOPER CRL 2013 - in discussion awaiting publication
Heatshock replied to Heatshock's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
Matt Lindon has noted an error in the text for the chest plate Metallic undercoat; silver or chrome recommended. Can be applied layered style or topically. Amount is dependent on individual troopers. Krylon khaki tan for the base coat. Panzer Olive green or equivalent. Flat Earth brown. Black/grey/white misting recommended camo pattern to simulate on-screen troopers – weathering recommended. 2 black straps connecting chest and back plates. Flush join at the sides. The greeb connecting the chest and back plate is GREY thanks mattalso a level II certification was submitted, but not been published .... Nate -
KASHYYYK TROOPER CRL 2013 - in discussion awaiting publication
Heatshock replied to Heatshock's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
the text is printed, and is as posted in the relevant sections Cummerbund For 501st approval: No molle vest or variant. Appearance of 2 tones of grey, whether the effect is achieved with weathering or in actual construction. Appearance should suggest a darker base with lighter vertical stripes. Has a midsection belt that goes around cummerbund. 2 vetical black stripes to go on cummerbund belt on the front. 16 pouches of accepted size and shape (note different flap configurations) ; 2 long front pouches 2 small rectangular front pouches 8 small side pouches 2 long back pouches 2 large rectangular back pouches [*]Pouches are either cloth covered and painted with a khaki base + camo pattern or covered with multi-cam cloth. -
mate - you want me to send you a colour card with the paints I use? Just the cost of stamp and you can try and mate to what you have locally?

KASHYYYK TROOPER CRL 2013 - in discussion awaiting publication
Heatshock replied to Heatshock's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper HQ
ok submission in its current written form submitted to Marcel abt a week ago - awaiting uploading in the mean time - SUBMISSION PICCIES PLEASE guys!! here. lets move on. happy to continue discussions, but for now the standard (as it is) is set. Lets get building, lets get trooping. Nate -
this is one of the reason why I believe the Kashhyyyk trooper belongs back on CT.net with the rest of his clone brothers. desginations of the clone variants has become very inconsistent and mixed. desginations have been assigned to particular clones now - not so much cos they are 100% correct, but it was important when we 1st tried to categorise em to make sure everyone was talking about the same thing. for instance - the Kashyyyk trooper has be at different times called the BARC trooper, clone scout and kashyyyk trooper. Different refs and resources used different words to describe the same thing. Of course, in the real world - it doesnt really mean anything different. Technically BARC troopers refer to the guys that served under Cmdr Neyo - as they were seen to BARC speeders on the planet Saleucami. They have the rounded red circle decal of the 91st recon unit. Eventually - the Kashyyyk trooper was so named cos they were seen in ROTS fighting on Kashykkk. The Hasbro toy however called em BARC troopers. To avoid confusion - Kashyyyk trooper was decided for this trooper we now see before us. What Battlefront describes as sharp shooters - are designated Airborne ParJai troopers - ie seen in ROTS with Obi Wan as parts of the 212 in ROTS as for teh weapon - as already stated - it shouldnt affect clearance what so ever

yes - that would be the colour I would go for

you are good to go mate

as the long 2 year discussion has shown - and your own comment Gerald - everyone has an opinion and no one can agree. So we have allowed for both. The decision has been made to have grey/oatmeal for Level 1, oatmeal for Level 2. If we keep changing our mind, or allow individual opinions to spark off whole new CRL discussions, we will never have a CRL to speak of. Like I have said on another thread - its not perfect. But we have to make a decision, and agree on a standard. It wont be for everyone, but its a standard we can all hope to aim for so we at least all look alike. Hard to say t- but it looks good tbh mate As for size - you can guess yourself, as its based on how big an area is depending on your trouser size. Mine was 18 cm x 12 cm for one side. But you have to adjust to your own thigh length. Nate

KASHYYYK TROOPER CRL 2013 - in discussion awaiting publication

Aye the problem with this particular clone is that so much is opinion Unlike old trilogy where there was a real world item, there aren't any in the kashyyyk trooper What we were tasked w was to set a standard. We aren't sayin it's 100% correct. I certainly have never said it was perfect. And anyone who says otherwise is beyond arrogant. We are merely doin our best. You opinion doesn't mean any less. And the crl is only the beginning to try and guide people. If u and ur Gml decide a certain item is more curate, go w it. The problem w the crl for this particular costume is that as more and more people come on line with it, more opinions get thrown into the mix. So we can't keep changing the crl every time some one disagrees w what had gone before. We do the best we can at the time and then stick to it. Hey there's stuff in there that I disagree with. But that's the best kind of compromise, no body is happy. Nate -
no rush DR - we got a few weeks to sort this out. But hopefully will be done by the end of the year closing date for the call for pics will be end of Oct. After that, i will simply use what I have to hand to fill teh CRL pics. if its not to presumptuous - I want to volunteer for the full body shot I have made the changes suggested in the Level II/Elite status to my CB now inluding the oatmeal patch, overlapping chest/back plate and white KC replicas!
-
more the merrier mate, BUT we do need to get cleared costumes only - but you are almost there get those piccies in!! also those interested in participating - lmk which of the 5 categories you want to contribute to thanks
-
looking gd. a few armour positioning issues - easy to sort out the attachement point is at the lower end of the knee plate - so I position the velcro near the top to stop the entire piece from tipping forward the problem with the camo on the boxes is that its not very clearly seen - multicam IS a compromise but even on mine - the multicam is misted over quite a bit to try and give it that 'smudged' look on the boxes but the final decision is up to individual GMLs as these no ideal 100% accurate camo yet identified

right guys - trying to get a few people invovled so I need volunteers - to submit piccies, piccies which will then be vetted/selected by Matt and myself to submit into the CRL to ease submission - I will divide it into main parts: (1) Full Length Shot (2) Helmet (3) Upper sections (separate pics of each on a white background please) - Chest/Back armour - bells - biceps - elbow - gloves (4) Lower sections (separate pics of each on a white background please) - cod piece - knees with straps - shins - boots and toe caps (5) Soft parts (separate pics of each on a white background please) - BDUs with mods - cummerbund and boxes - belt (include the drop boxes in pics please) I have suitable pics from Matt and Myself. But want more of my brothers involved please! We want to get these sorted ASAP Please post the high res pics to kashyyytroopermod@gmail.com Nate
