Ok, heres what i would do - 1 - Re-dye the camo, do it with a chestnut brown and leave it in for a little longer. Remember it'll lighten a lot once its dry. From what i have seen you should only just be able to make out the camo pattern (unfortunately the flash made yours look a lot lighter). 2 - Put a spacer in on the shoulders between chest/back. Obviously you are a big bloke and its made the gap at the bottom of the chest/back seem huge. If you added a spacer between the chest/back it would make the chest-plate hang much lower and make the gap at the bottom smaller (i know that wasnt picked up by the GML but i would do it anyway). 3 - Splodge (technical term ) a little more colour onto the armour, easy job. 4 - Take out some of the filling of the wrist sections of the gloves. They look good on the table but once you have them on they do look very puffy, in comparison to the picture you posted. 5 - Admittedly in your clearnace pics the lens doesnt look reflective green Just my two penneth-worth

Im intreagued. What exactly did they say the issues were ? Maybe if you list them down we can help ?

Scratches/Cuts on ABS Armor
Prophet106 replied to Wickedfluxx's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Yes i would say some very fine sandpaper to take the edges off the cut then maybe a little filler. Also i hear toothpaste is a good fine polishing abrasive Hell, leave it like it is ! Scouts are meant to look a bit roughed up ! If people ask tell them an ewok got a little too close -
Looking good (munchkin feet !)

You realise you'll need two magnets for the previous idea ? One gets mounted in the pistol itself and the other in the holster. Most people drill out the 'button' or 'switch' on the left-hand side of the grip and place a magnet in there. Possibly i have misunderstood you . . . Mine uses a webbing strap so it is not elasticated. It needs to be clicked shut each time. The idea being if you are planning on marching or running about then you can secure it. If you are staying still for periods of time you can just drop it in. However elastic would do the same job

Insert in screen used boots ?
Prophet106 replied to Prophet106's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
That's not really what i meant. If you look at the first picture i posted you can see a definate 'shape' underneath the fabric of the shin of the boot. It looks like they have used a football (soccer for you yanks ) shin-pad (or something similar) underneath to help the boot keep its shape/stand up straight. of course i could be wrong -
Looking at one of the screen-caps showing a close-up of the boots it looks like they have used an insert to keep the boot-leg upright ? Looks almost like a shin-pad shape insert ? Does anybody know anything about this ?

Hi all. Im doing the flap and thigh patches on on undersuit soon and am ideally looking for a couple close-up pictures if anybody has one handy ? I saw the screen-cap that Joker posted in the other similar thread (http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?autocom=gallery&req=si&img=384) but its not a very detailed picture. If i could see a picture or two showing the rough size of the flap and the shape of the thigh patches i would be most grateful thanks

I made a thumb-break strap for mine similar to that of pistol holsters. Its basically a 1" white webbing strap that loops around the bit that sticks out of the back of the pistol (next to the sight). It loops around and closes with a push-snap. The strap is held to the holster with a rivet. Doesnt look out of place i dont think and holds in it rock solid. I tested it by sprinting up and down the stairs at home Something you cant do in TK armour You can sort of see it in this picture

Laser/trigger switch wired up, trigger guard made. Final coat and spray varnish. We're pretty much done !
-
Bit more work done today. Few coats of paint, cleaned up a bit etc. Few greebles added. Its about 90% done

Not that there is technically such thing as a scout sniper rifle http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=7119

A spare off-cut of wooden decking i had kicking around in the garden Cut it to the right sort of shape, caked it in filler then sanded it down. Dremelled a few grooves in it to make it look 'magazine-ish' and added a few strips of plastic around the base where it meets the receiver to make it look like a magazine-well. Then hosed it down in chrome It'll be a lot darker when ive finished
-
Right . . . Finished the magazine, housing, scope rail and scope. Still lots of filling and sanding to do. Its also going to be much blacker when its finished. The chrome is just a base-coat

So i've been working feverishly for the past few days on a scout carbine . . . I wanted it to look E-11ish so it 'sat well' with the star-wars universal weapons. The receiver is from an airsoft M4 with the selector switch and forward assist removed. I have also cut down and filled the magazine-well. The stock is a tippmann A5 folding paintball gun stock. I had to dremel the hell out of it to get it to fit. The front end is hand-made from bits i had lying around. Some 40mm pipe, lengths of thin plastic tubing and a few other bits and bobs to make the front-sight/muzzle. Im going to placing some led's on the inside with a few clear bits of plastic on the outside, these will be wired to the trigger. There is also a red laser in the muzzle which will activate when the trigger is pulled It still needs some filling, sanding and painting as well as a horizontal magazine (where the ejection port is). I also have a resin 'tank scope' on the way (same as an E-11) which will be mounted on top. I'll add more progress pics as and when . . .
