Try dunking it in Gastrol Purple Power for a week. It may loosen the glue unless it's the kind that actually melts the material it glues together. This may also soften the plastic a little, but once you wash it off with dishwashing soap and let it dry it should go back to normal. Just don't get the Purple Power on your skin. No guarantees, though.

TM's helmet sculpt - revisited!

Cool to see this project pop back up. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle the specific shapes of the facial piece, which is the most difficult to get right. -

Yeah... that's a damn fine looking helmet those propstore guys have. Just lovely. -

The thing is. When doing these in fiberglass... then using the original vac-forming molds creates a problem, as you are then having to deal with whether the trimming and assembly is up to par with the original pieces. When making licensed fiberglass production helmets you mold the outside of an original helmet. That gives you accurate shape and assembly + the added bonus of being exact to one particular original helmet. It's the same with the eFX hero trooper helmet. They took it apart to mold it on the inside for vac-forming, then later realized they had to potentially go fiberglass. It's just backwards. Mold the originals on the outside to make fiberglass versions and there's be LESS issues. -

The visor and face piece is attached too low to the back piece. They should line it up at the top, not the bottom when joining the two. And the face is rather soft on the cheeks where they are pretty sharp on the originals. But all that is cosmetical at best and minor points. Good to know they'll do both Limited and Legend editions (even though I can't really see the Legend part if they do it in fiberglass). -

The different material/less accurate version was what the Limited Edition was for, where the Legend was for the über accurate. I just fear they are merging the two lines and selling a Limited product at Legend prices. Sure, it's a good business strategy - but it just makes eFX just another prop company like all the others, whereas the Legend line originally set them apart from the rest. What we can learn from this is that it doesn't help one bit that someone from our community is actually employed with the company, so in the future, if someone claims things could be more accurate with one of us involved, we can now say that that is a load of BS. Sorry for the rant, but I had high hopes for the Legend line... just doesn't seem to be there once things actually start going into production. Big claims and the actual product not living up to those claims... we know that from all the other prop companies... oh well. Moving on to something else. -

I guess you can call him a sales representative and product advisor. Not sure of his job description. He has plenty of full scale Star Wars statues and that's likely why eFX hired him. I don't know. Usually a stickler for absolute accuracy and bashing licensees for not going über accurate and using the right materials... so... the fact that he's involved and this is happening... is just feeling rather ironic. Guess he doesn't mind as he'll probably get the formed ABS master the fiberglass molds will be made from... Anyway... I was hoping for a cheaper Limited line of fiberglass helmets... but now... it will be Legend line prices for a limited line type of product. They may do them in ABS... but the fact they are putting out feelers already regarding switching doesn't make me hold a hope. -

This is a quote from Gino regarding the Legend line Stormtrooper and Scout - it's being discussed on RebelScum from post #93: http://forum.rebelsc...om/t1074009-10/ And on the RPF from post #316: http://www.thereplicapropforum.com/f9/efx-reveals-stormtrooper-hero-legend-edition-helmet-121699/index13.html -

I take it back... may not be done in ABS after all. -

Only the materials used to make the originals are used in the Legend line. The limited line is more open. -

Judge by the price of the X-Wing helmet - it definitely won't be less than that. -

The eFX ESB TK is not at all in the same line as the Legend line helmets. You can rest assured that the Legend line means made and assembled exactly like the originals with the same materials - basically what was usually predominantly only the quality and style you'd find in the best fan helmets. The only modding you could possibly need is if you want to add battle damage like the screen helmets, instead of having a pristine right out of the factory look. -

http://www.therpf.com/f9/legend-continues-131178/ This is THE most awesome news I've had for a while. I had heard hints and whispers... but this confirmation is just cementing it. I've had to thin out my collection and drop a few pre-orders... but this one will be mine. Hope they trim the lens area like this one, as that's my favorite one, but that would just be an added bonus:
