It’s late here and my helmet parts are in the workshop. I’ll take some pics when I’m in tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi mate No offence taken. There are no trim lines because every time a helmet is assembled it will be slightly different. You’ve only got to remove a difference of a couple of mm of each back half to make a previous templated visor not fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

the best way to join these I’ve found is to brace the parts with strips of abs on the inside of the join and stick together with a liquid solvent cement whilst clamped in position. . Once that’s set fill the gap with a abs paste made of scrap bits of abs and the liquid solvent cement. Leave that to set overnight and sand smooth. I then pretty much cover the whole top of the helmet with a plastic bumper filler which is slightly flexible. And as much over the back seam that is permitting. Sand that smooth and a paint with a filler primer and make good. Than you can top coat.

sibbel29’s Strider/CFO armor built topic
sskunky replied to sibbel29's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Just stumbled on this build thread. What a great thread. Glad the armour is working out. 👍🏻 -
Oh, you guys [emoji4] Thank you. It’s means a lot when you get praise and good feedback. When Constantine approached me with the idea of producing his armour I was humbled by the idea. At that point I was only making stuff either cast from original production made props or my own sculpts. This was the first time I had ventured into a fan sculpted armour. But this sculpt was so good it wasn’t hard to say yes. After many months of moulding, tweaking and testing of plastics we are finally there. And to compliment the Strider armour I approached John aka Lonewolf to see if I could complete he set with his amazing fan sculpted helmet. He said yes! So I believe although not cast from original production but cast from original sculpts we finally have a top notch looking affordable armour and helmet. I think unless you stand next to an original you’d be hard pushed to see the difference. Thank you Constantine and thank you John, without you guys and the likes of Ken this kit wouldn’t be were it is now. A lot of people forget or don’t even think about how long and what problems occur when developing armour and helmets. Although most of the hard work had been done in the sculpts I always put my own mark on things. Let’s be honest I’m pretty anal. [emoji23] but that works in your favour. Thanks! Happy Christmas guys. The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!

Sorry posted in the wrong thread. -
There is a interest thread up for the CFO/Strider Armour. No helmet yet as I still have to work on that. But I’m nearly complete on the armour moulds. Just a couple to mount to boards and a few tweaks and I’m done. Just ordered some pinseal abs for Monday and will start working down the list.

I don't think anyone has ever found an original faucet from ANH,ESB or ROTJ for the trooper helmets. I am no expert on Biker stuff unfortunately but I don't think it has been found yet. -

Oh, and has the correct part been identified for the mic tip part. I have casting of ANH, ESB and ROTJ mic tips. There must be the correct part for the BS snout tip. -

Can you cast the snout without the mesh installed? Then you could put real mesh into the cast. Much nicer IMO. -

sskunky's Lonewolf Scout lid build WIP
sskunky replied to sskunky's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Hi mate, Definitely should meet up for that pint! I can't believe we missed each other? Next time....... I took an afternoon to trim the helmet pieces and to get the visor together and the main back piece inner crown disc glued in place then it sat in the garage for months and when I was sorting out the trooper stock came across it and thought I should finish this baby. I then saw Keith's build and that inspired me. So I spent most of yesterday afternoon finishing gluing the back' n cap and filling the joins and getting the visor to fit neatly. I was a bit worried that the visor wasn't sitting well, but when I fixed it on with the bolts it sat pretty nice. I still think I need to trim a bit more off to free it up a bit when it is lifted as it does tend to rub a bit in the main forehead and temples. I have already heated the lens piece and that fits really nicely. Over all I'm pretty pleased with the results, OK, it's not as well assembled as Keith's, the interior could be a little neater but I doubt they made too much effort with the originals, well they didn't with the troopers! I will more than likely weather it as I am in the "I love my props to look beat up and used" camp. Overall 2 days spent on it so far. If you don't count the months in between! cheers! -

My weathered Biker Scout Helmet

Very nice John. I would look even better next to a ROTJ Trooper helmet! -
Hi guys, Some of you will know me from other forums like the RPF and FISD. I produce CFO ROTJ Stormtrooper armour and helmets amongst other props from other films.... I was lucky enough to swap one of my ROTJ helmet kits with John for one of his fantastic Scout helmet kits. I am very versed in the building of stormtrooper helmets but this is my first scout. This is by far the trickiest helmet build I have had to deal with to date but I love a challenge.... I forgot to take pics from the very start but I guess you've seen someone trim a lid before. There is still a bit of clean up here and there and I need to prime the face/Visor and wet sand in preparation for the top coat of white. I'm in the UK so any tips on which white to use would be helpful. And here it is.........Any comments and constructive criticism welcome........

Lovely build Keith. I am building the very same lid at the mo. Not the easiest build I have encountered but a great challenge. Now it's together you can really see the accuracy in it..

Well, I've managed to glue the two back n cap halves together and I've done the visor to the faceplate...... Now I need to pray it goes together now......
