  1. After the past few years of doing Pathfinders PR as head of Recon Fatale, @Jennk182 has decided to step down so she can concentrate on other things! I'm sure she has her hands full with Imperial Scottish Garrison Thank you, Jenn, for your leadership of Recon Fatale these past few years and putting a spotlight on the ladies of the 501st Pathfinders! Stepping into that role is none other than @Feliscout, Sarah Silverman-Pucci! Besides being a 15 YEAR member of the 501st Legion as of 2024, Sarah is also one of the very few Pathfinders to have reached Ranger status. Her enthusiasm for the Pathfinders and Recon Fatale made her a natural pick to be its new chief! Sarah will be in charge of the Recon Fatale social media, so if you have pics you want shared, she is the Pathfinder to talk to! Let's give a big hand to Sarah and Jenn!

  2. Greetings Pathfinders! Thank you once again for allowing me to continue to serve you all as Detachment Leader of the Pathfinders for the coming term. And what a fun term we have coming up! 1. The 20th Anniversary of "Revenge of the Sith" ROTS turns 20 this year, which means so does the Kashyyyk Trooper! The 2nd CRL of our Detachment, the Kashy has had a small but steady following here since 2006. We've always had between 50-60 Kashys at any given time, but with more propmakers offering Kashy parts, now is the best time to get into this CRL. And our Kashy DCA @Jakeputt, is here to help you be successful! This also means we'll be offering Kashy 20th Anniversary merch this year. We know Kashy merch is not one of our bigger sellers, so we're hoping to entice you all with some great design! And currently we are working on a CRL for the Kashy Heavy from Battlefront 2. If this interests you, feel free to chime in 2. The 25th Anniversary of the Detachment! Doesn't it feel like the 20th was just yesterday? Hard to believe but we are now in year 25 for the Pathfinders. From a Yahoo group to the mighty forum we are today, the Pathfinders have come a long way! And we'll be offering some commemorative 25th Anniversary merch this term to celebrate. 3. Celebration Japan! 18-20 April 2025 is almost here and we can't wait to see the Pathfinder group photo! I unfortunately won't be there this time around, but I will be jealously viewing all your photos. If anyone is interested in helping organize the group photo, please let me know and I will assist any way that I can. 4. New CRLs? We've already seen Scouts in the "Andor 2" trailer, so there's a good chance we'll be seeing a new CRL for them (unless they are just CGI copy-pastes from "The Mandalorian"). We are also working on the above-mentioned Kashy Heavy. "Andor" is also known for being very Shoretrooper friendly, so we will keep our eyes peeled for any ST sightings! 5. Videos! For the Kashyyyk 20th we will be doing the Kashy CRL walkthrough. And I am going to do that ROTJ Soft Goods Video once and for all this term! I apologize for it taking so long; the scope of it has been a bit overwhelming. But until then, we have great tutorials for just about everything soft goods related in our Scout soft goods armory https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/forum/145-rotj-biker-scout-soft-parts/ 6. Staffing And with a new term comes the usual flood of PMs asking me for a staff job. Folks, the bunker is full up with some of the best Pathfinders around! Take a look at the awesome team pictured above -- these troopers have put their time in, paid their dues and know the costumes inside and out. If I ever need to replace anyone, it will come from folks already on the forum who are showing that level of aptitude. I'll take our newest armor, @MikeRadness as an example. He never asked me for anything. He was already here on the forum, doing the work. And when someone goes so far as to get THREE L2s for their various Shoretroopers, an Armor Team spot was a foregone conclusion. Looking forward to another great term! From the bottom of my Imperial heart, I want to thank you all for your support! Mickey Bukowski TB/ST-81974 Pathfinders Detachment Leader

  3. On behalf of Pathfinders Command, I would like to wish you all a Happy and Safe New Year! Compared to 2023, 2024 was a quiet year for our Detachment. But 2025 promises to be another big year for the Pathfinders, as we have both the 20th Anniversary of the Kashyyyk Trooper and the 25th Anniversary of the Detachment! In April will be Celebration Japan and following that the second season of "Andor", which hopefully has some more love for both Shores and Scouts! But for now, enjoy your time with family and friends! Pathfinders Lead the Way in 2025!

  4. Saturday April 12th 9:00AM (PST) / 12:00PM (ET) / 4:00PM (UTC+1) Length: 2-3 hours (depending on interest and availability of staff) Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/iph-uxin-qag (No Download Required) Pathfinders Virtual Armor Party. Everyone is welcome to attend and bring any questions you have about any of the Pathfinders costumes. If you're new to the detachment and this is your first costume build or if you're deep in the weeds with a plethora of costumes but feel "just one more couldn't hurt," come join in. The time gives the best coverage for the US and Europe but everyone is invited to join. While the forum is a great source for just about anything you would like to know about Pathfinders costumes, it never hurts to have someone to talk to directly as well as being able to ask specific questions about your build while being able to see first hand the answers to those questions. Working on armor by yourself can be a daunting task, so let us help with some of that strain. Armorers and Command staff will be available to help you with your builds so come prepared with questions and be ready to work. Or if you just want to say hi to some of the folks you see posting on the forum all the time, now is your chance! If you are unable to attend due to timezone issues please let us know your interest. If there are enough people outside of the current timezone we can always schedule another Armor Party at a later date that will take this into account.

  5. After over 50 events in my Shoretrooper Squad Leader, I wanted to rework the armor a bit, but then came to the conclusion that a complete new build would probably make more sense. Then the question arose as to which variant I should choose and the answer was “yes”! A few details are still missing, e.g. I still have to add the long belt box and the biceps parts are somehow too tight, so that I can't get them high enough in combination with the shirt - so I have to work on that again. Approval photos will have to wait a little longer, but all in all this should cover pretty much every Shoretrooper variant currently available. ^^ I'm missing an E-11 balster, but who needs one, if you can have an E-22?! But the best of all - I can actually fit all of this in a 190l Stanley box & the weapon case, which have of course been branded accordingly. I thought I've archived the pictures of the building process somewhere, but somehow I can't find them right now. It was actually a process during the last 2 years and I built 4 other armors inbetween/parallel for friends who are now members too. But at least, here is the result. As said, have to take pics for approval when I find the time to wear and change all those parts and I have reworked thos tiny parts still missing or needing a change. I can put on everything on my own, but it's easier with someone to help. And then I hope to find the time for more trooping again

  6. Hey Patrol Trooper true believers! Over the next few days we'll be adding to the Patrol Trooper CRL Optional Accessories some of the bits and bobs they carry in the "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" game. These include: The Riot Baton The Orange Pauldron The Riot Shield We have pictures of the first two items, as they can carry over from the JFO Scout. To my knowledge, no one has built a shield yet. So until someone does, that one piece will have to wait before it's added. I know one of you will take up that challenge!

  9. I've wanted to do this build since I saw it in Solo. I've been busy trying to finish a Shadow Scout for the past year. I've been on here a lot as you all have much better write ups about scout builds compared to SpecOps. I was recently offered a Resin cast PT helmet and that spiked my interest in this build again, so I jumped on the few items that @BikerScout007 had that I could fit in. So now that I have a helmet, boots, and gloves, it was time to start grabbing more stuff to make this happen. I bought @MrPoopie's files so I can start printing the armor on my Elegoo Neptune 3 Max, and my CR-10 S5. I'll be printing them in PETG as I don't have any enclosures. I'll also be ordering my pants from Uniform Warehouse per many recommendations. The jacket and belt were my biggest hang up. I recently was contacted by a prop maker named "Galactic Props" on Facebook and they said they could make the jacket to meet the Level 2 requirements, so I've taken a risk and ordered. As for the Belts and Belt boxes, I've gotten some recommendations and will be looking into those. So break down. Softgoods: Jacket - Galactic Props (https://www.facebook.com/galactic.props.2025) Pants - Uniform Warehouse (https://bit.ly/3GvRCGw) Gloves - Endor Finders Boots - Amazon (https://amzn.to/4lYQg7A) Belt - TBD Belt boxes - TBD Balaclava - Amazon (https://amzn.to/4jEZioI) Armor: Helmet - cast resin (not sure who they are modeled from). Armor - 3D printed PETG (MrPoopie's files).

  10. Hey all! This week we launched our YouTube channel in order to house the many videos we've created and will create in the future. So instead of trying to track them down in a myriad of places, they are now all in one easy to find place -- including the Virtual Armor Party videos! More stuff to be uploaded soon! Please like and subscribe at https://www.youtube.com/@501stPathfinders

  11. Okay! @MrPoopie pulled all the files he could off Strider's server and sent them to me. I have uploaded them to our server space so we should never lose them again. I then went through each post and changed the HTML to point to our servers. The pictures should be back! The few that are missing we could not pull down for whatever reason. I have also gone through and removed all the posts that were not Strider's own build posts. That should make this thread a LOT easier to go through. However, I've noticed that some of the information is out of date. We will be going through it and making sure it matches the current CRL requirements. If you have questions, please post them below and a member of the Armor Team will be happy to help you. Additionally, a LOT of the armor portions of this are covered in the Armor Party build video. Please give that a look

  15. 2024 Update Hello, all! Spent some time tonight updating this fun suit, so documenting a few things here about it! Recently, Denuo Novo announced that they had their Patrol Trooper helmets in stock. My biggest complaint about my own Patrol build was how difficult it was to wear - the helmet was simply too large for me to wear properly, forcing me to look out of the teeth and have some limited movement. Not ideal and it kept me from doing many troops in this outfit. So, when the Denuo Novo option became available, I figured I would give it a whirl to help fix my issues. Denuo Novo Helmet vs. Armory Shop Helmet Here's the packaging that the DN helmet comes in, typical of their line of helmets: After taking it out of the packaging, I placed it next to my Armory Shop helmet for some side-by-side comparison shots. And here are some shots of the DN helmet by itself: There are a couple things I really like about this new DN helmet. Most importantly (for me, at least) is the size. This is a fairly sizable reduction compared to my Armory Shop helmet, and that's quite important for me. With a fairly short neck and a small-ish head, this reduced helmet definitely fits me more appropriately. It's also neat to see the underplate beneath the blast shield. The Tank Driver and AT-ACT Driver helmets of Rogue One were also crafted this way, so it certainly makes sense that this follows suit having been created in the same time period. The weathering surprised me quite a bit - it is quite close to the weathering I put on my Armory Shop helmet. I might add a little bit more to give it some texture that matches my armour, but it's pretty nice now even without adjustment. I do still need to migrate my helmet internals over to the new piece, but that's just a simple manner of pulling out fans and putting them into the new one - easy enough since its all placed with Velcro. Full Kit With New Helmet Of course, suiting up entirely was the only true way to test the helmet and how it fits. Here's what the whole kit looks like now. It is such a nice improvement to be able to see fairly clearly and turn your head, so I'm really happy for that. There are a couple small repairs/adjustments I want to make before getting this out to a troop, but nothing major - mostly just repairs that need to happen because the armour was sitting in a bin untouched for slightly too long. Some paint touch-ups and tweaks here and there mostly. Here is a comparison between this new version (left) and the first version (right). The larger helmet really looks too big on me now that I see them side-by-side. Here's also a size comparison between the DN helmet and a standard ABS TK helmet, just to give another point of reference: All in all, I'm quite pleased with this upgraded version. Just a few small repairs to get this back into the trooping rotation!

  16. Well, I ran this by the DL and he referred me to the DCA. Last night I posted on FB that I was looked to commission a jacket. A prop vender named Galactic Props contacted me and said they could do it, and sent me some pictures and a video of their jacket. The pictures look like something that would pass basic approval, but the video seemed to show the flat stichig as well as the ribs. So I took a gamble and ordered it. They did ask for measurements and said it would take about 2-4 weeks. So, well see how it goes. If it turns out good, we might have a vendor willing to make the jackets. Link to jacket video. 22. Hi folks, because it's more fun to have more than three unfinished projects at the same time I thought to myself "why not start another one?!" Ok to be honest it's been growing in my mind for a while now. I've bought @MrPoopie JFO files some months ago and printed some smaller parts on my own printer. The bigger parts gave me some headache so I asked a member of my local garrison If he could print the files for me. I just recently bought my DLT-19x and a Jawa Blaster (another unfinished project) from him and was stunned by the quality so this was an easy decision. The parts just arrived yesterday and I have to say I don't regret it at all. Because this is the best and most active detachment of the legion (in my eyes) I don't have any doubts that I'll get this one done that it's easy for my local GMO to approve the build. Thanks to the super detailed WIP by @Aradun, @MrPoopieand @RickyBoyBlue, I do have some awesome resources to follow. For the parts from my ROTJ Scout which need to be modified I'm thinking about buying new additional parts because I want to display the parts on one of my busts. But this is something I need to think about. The first part I want finish is the baton because I want to put some electronic inside and it's the same with the Jawa blaster so both projects may profit from each other. 😅 Well here are some pictures from the printed parts. As I said this might take some time but the WIP will help to get this one finished. Besides this project I'm preparing my Lancer application because this is something I wanted to do for while now. And for those of you who might wonder what "Knüppel frei" means it is MP or Anti Riot Police slang for "Go, get them" but maybe with a little negative touch... 😄And "Knüppel" is the baton. Cheers

Review : Sheartech Shoretrooper 'bapty' blaster/sidearm: Having seen this new addition to the Shoretroopers arsenal in Andor I was excited to receive this replica to review from Mark at Sheartech. Although there is not much reference out there at present besides the toy versions from Hasbro and Hot Toys along with limited screenshots from the series , Mark has gone the whole nine yards striving to produce a beautiful aluminium + resin replica which is easy to build and paint..and would be a great addition to any budding STs!! The initial model has been tweaked in accordance to information gained from the actual propmaker at Pinewood and imo is the most accurate model available at present. If you are interested in this beautiful replica you can contact Sheartech at : https://www.facebook.com/sheartech Photos below are of the painted replica unweathered then weathered .

  28. To the 501st Pathfinders Command Staff, I just wanted to extend a huge thank you for the time and guidance you’ve given throughout my kit build. The resources you’ve provided, and the support you offer through the forum, have been absolutely essential—and honestly, game-changing. A special shoutout to @Chopper, @Tarok, and @Aradun—your advice, patience, and dedication made a daunting process not just doable, but actually enjoyable. You’ve helped turn a pile of plastic into something truly epic. Thanks again for everything you do—not just for me, but for every builder chasing that screen-accurate dream. Scott B. - aka Sgt. Bilko

  29. I was able to buy the DLT-19x files from surfinbird132 on Cults before he mysteriously took them all down a few days ago. Posting my build progress here. So far I've got all the pieces printed out and did some 120, 220, and 320g sanding. Next step will be to glue all the pieces together with the dowel and pipe then bondo.

  31. When it comes to paint it's usually the clear coat that starts yellowing. I typically tell folks not to clear coat for that very reason. I've never used that particular type of Rusto paint before, but I also wonder if the epoxy aspect of the paint might be part of the issue. Unfortunately, short of sanding and repainting, there's no magic method to remove the yellowing from either paint or clear coats.

  39. Hi everyone! My name is Alex and I am 39 years old. I am a Star Wars fan since I was a kid, even before I saw the first movie. I found an old sticker album and dived deep into the galaxy far far away! When the special edition was released the madness started. 🤪 When I learned about the 501st at the Jedi Con 2004 I wanted to become a 501st Member. Finally I met some people of the German Garrison by fluke in spring this year. Now I learn the ROTJ Scout CGL by heart, printed all DIY instructions I found here and have everything together for the soft parts (apart from the gloves). I'm only waiting for bad weather to have an excuse to stay inside instead of working in the garden. 😉 I think of 3D print the armour because I have professional printers at hand. Can anyone recommend a really good file which meets CGL standard? I look forward to finishing the costume to become a full 501st member!

  42. If I may suggest, make sure you try to exhale through your nose. Seems silly to say, but that'll help keep your lens from fogging and also from you getting too warm. Also, when you get warm, no shame in going inside to cool off or wherever your changing area is. Bring water and drink it. Have fun!

  43. We're getting ready to make the biker scout pistols again. We've made a newer slightly more accurate master from the scans of a screen used prop. Question: Is there any reason to make the lens on the single-point scope clear for biker scouts as an option? I don't believe they were ever clear in the film but I know how sometime people like to have scope details. Just a question I thought I would ask before we run the new molds. The DLT-19X is in the works also with the scope already mounted as well. Our version of the DLT-19X will be the Battlefront version with the scope and no bipod. This will be made to the same quality as our DLT-19's that we have made over the years. We've never really addressed the needs of the Pathfinders as far as the DLT-19X goes.
