Opinions on ebay parts

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I tried searching for the ebay seller's name here first before starting a new post and found nothing. I was curious about the overall opinions of the accuracy and quality of bounty_trooper from ebay, out of Bolivia. Specifically the vest, cumberbund and pouches.

I was in the 501st for over 10 years and retired in the early 2000s. I kept all of my costumes and am replacing old parts with newer accurate ones for mannequin displays.

With that said, my focus is not on 501st requirements, but just having something that's good quality and accurate.

Any opinions would be wolcome.

Thanks

Welcome back to the party Chris!

I would suggest getting a redkap jumpsuit and adjusting it yourself. With some basic sewing skills you can get a great jumpsuit for 1/4 of the cost of contracting one.

I used a bsn member for my bund and pouches and had them at my door in under two weeks.

Bolivia shipping can be crazy if the seller doesn't use UPS/FED EX. I would check pricing from them using a trusted carrier.

Good luck!

Well the jumpsuit wasn't one of the things on my radar right now, just the cumberbund and vest. I had a few local friends who are prop collectors mention the guy in Bolivia as doing great vests and cumberbunds, but it's just hard to know which to go with. It doesn't seem like there is any one particular go-to for different parts. I know with spending years on my Fett via TDH, there are some parts of the costume that there is one guy who is just the "gold standard" to go to for that particular piece and they are usually uncontested. It's a little different it seems with this costume.

The stuff from ebay IS a member on here or associate, but I will not call him out on the forum. Just know that there are problems with shipping at this time and it will be months before you get it. He is also suspended here so I would go with another trusted member if it were me.

I had my bund and pouches from Marcel in a few weeks from UK to Arizona.

I don't want to set that expectation for every order, I can only comment on my experience.

Bolivia will be months bro.

I would steer clear of Evolution Props.

A few years ago I bought a "custom made" to my measurements Tie Pilot suit from him. Well after 4mo of waiting I asked where is my suit. He says Oh it was just shipped out. A few days later I receive an empty bag, no rips or tears. It was sealed empty from Argentina & sent to me. I threaten him with a Ebay/Paypal claim & magicly another bag shows up 4 days later with a Tie Pilot suit in it. But the suit is so small I can't even close the wrists. There is a warning about him over in the Jolly Roger Squadron.
