OK. I want it for basic clearance.
Another question I have is that the front and rear armor come attached. How can they be separated and what system can I use to attach the two parts?
To quote a favorite king of another franchise: "So it begins!"
I still was in the process of gathering the parts. And I have to say getting PVC pipes in inch in germany is a pain in the a*... 😅 You get tons of steel, aluminum and other heavy material but no PVS pipes... Finally I got my hands on a 1 1/4 inch pipe for a pool and 3/8 inch transparent pipe. For the extending part I was thinking about using magnets to keep the parts extended or retracted but I couldn't find fitting ring magnets so I will stick with @RickyBoyBlue version with velcro. I hope this will work.
One positive benefit of the 1 1/4 inch pipe is the thread on the end of the pipe. Because I want to add eletronics to the baton this is the perfect way to get access to eletronics. I printed a 1 1/4 inch thread which fitted almost perfectly into the end cap.
The gaps between the larger cast parts and ABS armor pieces are so tiny, i had to filled them up with glue, modeling putty and the thinnest styrene semi circle rods in my modeling stash. Will prime tomorrow. Hopefully the hot weather continues thru the weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
